Re: 7000 New VP Machines for Caesars
About 6 months ago Harrah’s in AC replaced there 3 very old 9/6 jacks or better games with new machines with large very clear screens. Beautiful machines. When I first saw them I would have bet anything that they now had lower pay tables like most of the JorB machines at Harrah’s AC. But to my surprise the new machines were set at the old 9/6 pay tables. These machines get a lot of action. I’m sure they are making lots of money off them. While most of the other machines with the 7/5 pay tables no one is playing on. I know for me that if they do away with the 9/6 machine in AC, I will quit playing video poker. It’s so hard to win on a 9/6 machine, you will have no chance at all with the lower pay tables.

I agree. Especially if you are playing JOB and the quads are far apart. Recently, the quads just weren't coming in at all. However, I was hitting Full Houses like crazy. I look at it this way. If quads aren't coming in, I need 3 extra Full Houses to meet what 1 quad would have paid. That day anyway, the f/h bailed me out. Over time, the difference in 9/6 and 7/5 is huge. There isat least a 3.4% less return. If you cycle through 5k in an average day which is very easy to do playing quarters, that is an extra 170 bucks for the house per day.

Harrah's Rincon in Valley Center, So. Cali is adding another hotel tower and doubling the casino floor. Hope some of those machines are destined for us.

Sounds like CET has many if not most of the 7000 machines in place and the verdict so far does not look good. When I was in New Orleans last week they were switching out many of the machines in the VP section adjacent to BESH Steakhouse. My favorites, the All-Star 3/5/10 play had not been shut down and replaced. Probably just a matter of time.

All I know is that they are made by IGT and are brighter and in many cases have lower pay tables than the ones they are replacing. I guess only time will tell for sure.

I heard a rumor that they hired webman as a consultant and he made all of the games Deuces Wild. There are no longer options to which games you will be able to play at CET properties.

No, he made them all TDB machines. You were misinformed.
