Re: Michael Charley - The Resurrection
[QUOTE=Tedlark] Nice hits roveer. I too, would miss the speed button on the machines. It must have been tough to only see that you got one kicker when you were dealt quad aces in the top picture, not that I'm being greedy or anything. Congrats again.
Did you miss the pic where he hit 2 quad Aces and an AWAK when just having 3 Aces. Or the pair of Aces drawing to 4 Aces with a 5X? He should have been pretty happy yesterday, I'd hope.
And weird that the multiplier goes away on the screen. It doesn't do that on the newer "All Star Poker II" machines. You can also see the looks of other new machines at Joliet in the reflection. I also prefer the audio of the older games better myself. The newer games are slightly different.

I've been donking on trip aces for the past 2 months. These hits almost made my eyes fall out of my head. I've all but forgotten what it's like to get a completion. About all I can say is, seems like old times. I really wonder what that's all about. Can it really be just the randomness? Although I've had quad dry spells before and I guess eventually it changed. Either way, I'm going to enjoy the newness of these machines while it lasts.

When I don't hear from you in awhile, I do get a bit worried, because I don't assume you've stopped playing. My tunica trip this month was a lot like this trip for you, except for a ton smaller stakes. I also couldn't believe some of my hits, I really haven't felt that way in a long time.

Your right, I don't stop playing. I've got a bunch of pics I haven't posted from my recent trips because none of them were really noteworthy and I feel it's overkill to post 1,250 handpays. This visit (which wasn't really even a visit) just a quick stop was something different. More of a return to the ways things used to be plus I wanted to comment on the new machines. I was really figuring my first visit new machine was going to be a train wreck and really turn me off but that's not how it turned out. I'll be paying very close attention to see if things start to slip back to the way they were. Can't keep that up. After all I enjoy playing VP but at my stakes you have to be careful or you dig a swimming pool size hole quickly.

You playing 10-handed too?
I don't see nearly as much of these because I'm typically playing just one hand.

Actually, that might not be a bad idea. I used to play at Borgata when I first started. Always STP, always 10 handed. I never saw these types of hands. Now I played quarters back then a probably not the same amount of hands, but I never really had these types of results. Then during a trip to Arizona I visit Ak Chin casino out in the desert and that's when I got my first Total Rewards card. Upon my return to AC I decided to give Harrah's a try since it was a member casino. Things changed, I got winning hands, hand pays etc. I've visited other AC casino's including showboat and played a ton of STP and never saw these hands. Everything keeps leading me back to Harrah's. Don't ask me why, but that's what happens. I've also come to like Harrah's because of the casino layout. They probably have the largest number of STP machines (at all denominations) in AC. I find I do better when I move around. Especially when one machine is not giving it up. I think all of these factors contribute to my results. But don't get me wrong, there are times at Harrah's where I can't buy 4OAK on even a single line. Aces dry up like nobody's business, can't even manage JOB. Then, it all changes.

Strangely enough Roveer, my wife and I were at Harrahs AC a few weeks back (10/14-10/16) and we played in the "Diamond Cove" on the old-style SuperTimesPay (back towards the cashier) and also on the newstyle ones (cashier was over our right-shoulder)We dropped $100 in the newstyle ones QUICK, then switched over to the old ones (uprights) and won $250 over the course of an hour or so (only 25c and JoB 5-play)

Randomly random I say. Sometimes they hit, sometimes they are dead cold. I'm just happy to see the overall number of machines on the rise. For a while now they've had almost 50% of VP off-line at Harrah's. It's just now getting back to normal with the new machines getting switched on. Nothing worse than having 4 machines total in which to play and all 4 acting dead. Not to mention super crowded because everything else was off-line.
