Bring Back the old way

Post by rwbgreg »

I sure like the old way better. If I walked into a casino and they only had one kind of video poker game, that is , they had 2 or 3 hundred machines and they were all say jacks or better , I would turn around a leave and not return. It is no fun with just one choice or should I say no choice, just one game. With say ten games it is just as fair or even playing field for anyone playing. They can chose the game they want just as anyone else. What is not fair about that?
This is just plain dumb. I'll bet if you went out to eat and the place you went to only had grilled cheese one night and only burgers one night an only turkey one night, they would not be open long! Then the guy running the place said it is so it would be fair for everyone, would that even sound right?

You can still play all your favorite games, just not in the Daily Contest, which has always been limited (one game, just not one game type). I wouldn't play in a casino if they told me I could only play 100 hands either. But you aren't alone in the sentiment, and we do thank you for the feedback. We'll keep looking at the contest format as time goes on and it is noted. In the meantime, I encourage you to play the contest if you enjoy it, or play the other games on the site if the featured game isn't to your liking.

The old format for daily contests was much better.  After day 7 last month, I discontinued plying the daily contests.  I still question the validity and results of the "vote" or whatever it was that was taken that have left us with daily contests with no freedom to decide which game we want to play.

I think a lot of the details are unknown.  I really don't care anymore.  The horse is out of the barn. I think it is dead somewhere and there are not enough members willing to be outspoken and bring the contest back in its old format.  Look how few people use the forum.  We will never know.  It would be very easy to manipulate the vote.   I really enjoyed the daily contests in their previous format.

My strategy was to play a low volatility game until I reached a point in the game where I knew I had the game won.  Then I would switch to a high volatility game and hope for a huge bottom line payout.  Likewise if I got halfway through a session and was not doing very well playing a low volatility game I could switch to a higher volatility game and try to hit a hail mary hand in order to pull the game out.The first month I participated in the daily contests I tied for 10th place.  I really liked the daily contests the way they were..  If they ever return to their previous format I will begin to compete in them again.

So basically what you are saying here is that you are mad that you haven't scored in the top 10 of a daily contest since? Now you are stomping your feet hoping to persuade someone to switch contests back to the old format? If its a dead issue as far as you are concerned then why are you continuing to bring it up?
