Yep, they are all gone at Roadhouse, the one small carousel at Harrahs probably won't be there long. It's definitely not the same!

Ugh maybe by some miracle they left the denominations/paytables of the double super times pay games the same? Not holding my breath.

Great post roveer. I have a question for you.

At my local Harrahs here outside Phoenix, they have been replacing the old machines with the newer ones as well. I, like you, play many, many hands of 10-play Supertimes Play DDB. For the most part with the older machines, I would consider they performed par for the course on 8-5 and 9-5 games with multipliers coming out as the game describes, etc. However, since the newer machines have been installed I have noticed a paltry derth of multipliers coming out, sometimes going 100 plus hands before getting a multiplier and very rarely getting more than 1-2 multipliers in short concession. On the old machines you would get 3-4 multipliers in a 10-15 deal span at times and rarely would you go dozens of dealt hands before seeing one. My sample size is not huge yet, maybe 10,000 dealt hands or so. I've spoken to other players who have noticed the same thing. I'm far from a conspiracy theorist that Harrahs has installed machines which do not pay out accurately as the pay table describes, but the change seems noticeable. I couldn't help but notice none of your pictures posted on this thread show any big hits with multipliers this time. What is your opinion on the frequency of multipliers on these new machines so far?

Furthermore I've also been playing a regular 5 play DDB game on a new machine, with an improved pay table none the less, and the returns have been putrid as compared to when I played the same game on the old machine that was there with a lesser pay table. Again sample size hasn't been huge, but results have been noticeable.

When playing one of the older remaining machines, my results seem to be more consistant with those in the past. Not looking to start a conspiracy thread here, just looking for more opinions. Obviously over time, with more hands played and a larger sample size, I believe the returns will be closer to as expected, but time will tell.

I've had a few sessions like the ones you describe with very few multipliers and I've had sessions where things seem just fine. Kinda hard to tell at this early stage. I will tell you that when I couldn't get a multiplier or a good hand I switched to dollar 5 play had found success there. That seems to have served me well in the past.

I've had multiplier dry spells on the older machines as well so I'm not going to jump to any conclusions.

Roveer.

I just returned from a trip to Biloxi, where I made a brief stop at The Grand, the CET property there. Almost all of the VP machines have been switched out, but somewhat surprisingly, the games have remained the same. They still have the one Super Triple Play machine that I like, still with a max denom of $0.50. I hit an RF holding a lone ace on that one. They also changed out all the single line machines to the newer models, with 9/7 TDB $0.50 max denom. If you want to play $1, TDB drops to 9/5.

I am not a big fan of the "newer VP" machines. I have yet to see these changes made to the local spots here in Vegas. All the Station Casino properties still have the IGT machines I like. 99.8% payback and so forth. The M casino still has the original IGT STP machines there. A decent bank of them.
