I'm sorry you feel that there is something wrong with the video poker in Atlantic City, AC as you call it, and for that reason I don't see a trip to Atlantic City, AC as you call it, in my 2014 travel plans.

Again good luck to you during your trip to Las Vegas and please report back with your results.

So we were at Sams Town this past weekend. My wife and I hit FOUR Royals in FOUR hours, playing next to each other. The MORE unbeiliveable part was, they were all different suits! We hit these at the QuickQuads that are right next to Dunkin Donuts.http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/ ... ollage.jpg

Great going and none holding 4. I know that holding 3 is the most common way to hit Royal, but these 4 are amazing.

Generally yeah, but I'm not positive this is true for every game. It might not be for 9/7 Triple Double Bonus or 10/7 Double Bonus since 4 to a flush > 3 to a Royal in those games. Unfortunately, I have no easy way to figure that out for sure. :(

Wish we had 10/7 Double Bonus in Ct. Once in awhile you find a quarter 9/7/5, then it disappears. They sneak in some 9/7/4 machines too hoping nobody will notice the 4 for the straight. Unfortunately, the most common one ( which I will not play ) is 9/6/4. I think that is around a 96.3 return. All of our 8/5 Bonus Poker games have been gone for some time. There are a very few 7/5 Bonus games, but most have gone to 6/5. They stay empty except for the one timers and the Saturday night crowd. Mostly talking about 25 cent games here.....Once again great job hitting those 4 Royals TIMSPEED....

Here's the rub about what is happening to VP these days in all markets, and what is happening in casinos in general: As the paytables on VP get worse and worse and lower the return % from the 98-99 range down into the abysmal 95-96 range (or lower), we are faced with simultaneous dilemmas(ae)......do we continue to play VP with the justification that even at awful paytables it is still better than slots, or do we spend our time (time being a more valuable asset than money) looking for better paytables at other casinos, driving or traveling to such far off casinos when we locate better paytables and thus incur extra cost on top of our lost time, or do we give up Video Poker altogether and find a different way to entertain ourselves?    Keep in mind too the diminishing nature of comps ...... I obviously cannot answer those questions for anyone except myself, and I personally have not decided yet..... One alternative to consider is this:   SLOTS in any typical Vegas (or even AC) casino, supposedly have different return percentages for different DENOMINATIONS of slots......penny slots up thru 5 cent slots have the greatest HOUSE EDGE, supposedly at 10 to 18% depending on the game, total credits bet and the actual casino.   The 25 cent or 50 cent slots have their house edge set around 7 to 10 percent, and DOLLAR (or more slots) are in the 3-1/2 to 5% range......this info is available at most casino cashiers in the form of a pamphlet which the gaming commissions typically require casinos to make available (kinda like Nutritional info available on request at McDonalds, its required!)     I know in AC it is a requirement and I have seen these pamphlets, but keep in mind they are simply GENERAL guides and describe AVERAGEs, they do not give the actual specific house edge for any specific slot machine in the casino.     So knowing this, a person may ask, is it perhaps not better, in terms of comps and/or expected return/loss percentage to start playing Dollar slots instead of Video Poker??   It all depends on your bankroll and your expectations I guess......

My friend ( I have mentioned him before in my posts) plays only dollar slots! He looks for the machines with a 2 coin max and plays those. He has been up for the year for the last 3 years at Mohegan Sun where I play. He has hit more than a dozen 10k jackpots, yet goes much less often than I do. His comps are 10 times what mine are and he has a director assigned to his account. They don't call him much though. They rely on mailings to get him there. He doesn't even have a computer!!. The bottom line is I have been thinking about the same thing. The downside I see is if he has a bad day, he will go through 3-5k. On a good day though though he could come home plus 10-15k. Those dollar machines can and do hit on the first couple of spins or go hours and hit virtually nothing. I also get bored with them and am not willing to risk that kind of capital. Funny though, that has been on my mind as it has been on yours and I bet a few other vp players as well.

First congrats on the 4 royals, 2nd to Mr. Daburglar I hit 6 royals on the 3 QQ machines at Harrahs last year. I've also had days on the same machines when I couldn't smell a QQ. I've also been there when my fellow players have hit Royals, I don't believe anything is fixed, its just being there at the right time. Vman calls it randomness.

congrats, I tip my hat to ya, although i would be interested in knowing what your TOTAL, year long (2013) results were, total profit/loss and return percent.....if you have that and can share it please do. Otherwise, I guess I am just simply the unluckiest video poker player in AC......
