Dollar Slots vs VP

Slots are more fun but you have zero control of your outcome. I think y'all are smart enough to know better which is why VP is the game of choice. Casinos continually tighten paytables so it just sucks, period. Good luck playing and beating the odds.

American casino guide lists the payback percentages for the various states. The Ct range for slots (this would I assume include vp) is 86% for pennies to 93% for dollar machines. Not very good. I just hope they are sticking to the paytables and not doing something internally on vp machines to reflect the above. If they do pay by the paytable schedule, then the percentages for regular slots will be much lower than the above.

I have mixed in more slots this year just because the VP has been awful. But I only play $5 and up. I think the higher denom the odds are better. On 5$ I would say my payback is about the same as VP. But on $25 I am up and on $100 slots I am way up with Jackpots of 12K, 15K and 8K 2x. I play them on average about 1 spin per trip and have hit more often than not but I don't press it. If I hit it for $500 or loose it then I am done for that trip. And I agree Quick Hits was the best to play for $5. Of course casino 1 took their 2 machines out earlier in the year and Casino 2 took their 4 machines out a couple of months ago so nobody around here has them anymore.

I think the dollar slots are much more streaky than vp. I have watched my buddy play a $2 max bet dollar machine for 7 or 8 hours and hit almost nothing. That same day, people who sat down next to him on either side each hit 10k jackpots within 5 minutes. I forget the names of these machines, but you have to get the 3 oval symbols for the big win. I have also seen my buddy sit down and hit big within 5 minutes on several occasions. If they don't hit in the course of the day, you can go through 3k easy playing $2 at a time. He calculated his average loss per hour at 300- without jackpots. Too rich for my blood, but I think a lot of us are just plain frustrated and disgusted with our vp results recently. Unfortunately, the casino knows that we never get bored playing them.
