But,while 9/6 double bonus is better than some of the pay scales it replaced, it has returns ranging from 96.38% to 98.14%, depending on other elements in the pay table, and would never be my "go to" game.

You beat me to it. 9/6 Double Bonus is still not worth playing in Colorado. Maybe he missed a "Double" when he typed that?

Case in point, I just today got 'approval' to use my $500 7Star Celebration Dinner in Horseshoe Hammond. I couldn't make the trip, and the benefit expires 3/31/2014. After all the "no" answers from hosts and supervisors, I got the property GM to approve some friends of mine using that credit at Binions tomorrow night.

I HATE leaving casino credits unused..

Hope you just didn't get him fired. I had a dinner credit once transferred to a friend because I was not going to use it. I noticed the slot lady which I visited it with often when I was at the casino was not their for a few trips. I finally asked and found out she had been fired for transferring those comps. Maybe your guy is high enough up it wont happen. Still I thought it was pretty crappy nice lady and always visited with most of the locals. Gone just like that.

Rover's story does not surprise me one bit. I am actually surprised he knew as much as he did. The first few times I went to Vegas when visiting a new casino I would always look for the $1 progressive. I would ask the slot tech on the floor who would have to call the floor manager and 95% of the time neither would have a clue where the progressive was much less video poker. "Check the bar maybe?" was the response. Good luck ever trying to ask about a specific game. I once asked if a casino had Triple Double Bonus and the lady looked at me like I was nuts. I think its just a job to them they don't know poker from slots.

This even goes for the gaming commission. I talked with one years ago and he didn't have a clue the difference between Jacks or Better or Double Double Bonus. It was a greek to him.

Just a couple of weeks ago I was at a new to me casino in LA. Playing a bank of progressives slot manager walks up after about 30-45 minutes asked if I needed anything. After talking found at she had been there 2 years since the casino opened. The royal was over $6K so I asked what the royal reset was cause I have had played some that reset at $5K instead of $4K. She had no clue but would find out and let me know. Did not see her for the next 4 hours

The management today is trained as " BOTTOM LINE MANAGEMENT " they just look at the bottom line. Profit or Loss. Very few people are hired that really know the business.

Hey - he's the General Manager of the casino.

And after all, if they fired him, how would they EVER find someone else to work in Indiana?

I agree with what others have said..it's just a "job" for 99% of the people working in the casino..they have NO IDEA...the only people that USUALLY do are the tech's who come install/configure the games from IGT/Bally/WMS/Aruze.Hell, if they knew about casinos..trust me, they would be on the OTHER side of the hustle ;)
