TDB Question

Post by chattycattty »

I have a question regarding TDB. Lately I have had several low card full houses. Normally, unless I draw a 3 ace full house in DDB, I would keep any full house. For Instance if I draw 3 3 2 2 2 , do I keep the full house or do I go for the 2000 credits and only keep the three 2's? And Does anyone know the margin of error between the two choices?

According to winpoker, breaking the full house and going for the 2000 quad is almost 20% better.

Thanks for the reply onemoretry. It is a bigger error than what I thought to hold on to the low card full house. I am still trying to bring my number of mistakes down before I give it a shot at the casino level. It seems that when I play TDB in these contests its either feast or famine.

Proper play in TDB is 3-2-2-2 (toss one 3).

Here is a link to a handy calculator that will show you the proper holds and the value of each:

Aw come on, where's your sense of adventure? Toss the trip 2's and hold the two 3's.

Actually, I play TDB a lot, and I would only hold the 2 2 2 (10 versus 45 if I do not catch anything).

I like having that additional draw for the fourth 2 (400) and maybe even catch one of the remaining two 3's, or a different kicker than the 3 (2000).

Shows how smart I am..

But, the reason that I am playing TDB in the first place is to get a premium hand.

TBD! Shoot, I can barely handle the crazy swings of DDB. A hundred lasting 30 minutes on a quarter machine. Or just minutes in a dollar machine. Then all of a sudden the light is on.

I was thinking the same thing Billyjoe and was surprised to find out that breaking the full house and going for the 2000 points had 20% better odds.

I supplied the almost 20% number (it's actually 19.55%).

But, billyjoe's play of breaking the full house and drawing to trips is marginally worse than holding the full house, and significantly worse than drawing to the trips with a kicker.
