My Mistake
I was playing my usual quarter SDDB last Friday at our local casino when I caught a full house. I happened to notice I was not credited with the usual ten bucks, only $7.50. I glanced at the paytable and saw it was 6/5 SDDB. I was upset...lol....so I call over the floor guy to complain that all the other SDDB machines were 8/5, and this was awful sneaky for them to do this. He calls a slot tech whom I complain some too, then the tech calls a floor manager...I told the manager it was my fault for not looking at the paytable before I started playing, but I still felt it was awful sneaky to have this game stuck in there. She proceeded to have the slot tech check all the SDDB games in the area, and when it was confirmed they were all 8/5, she apologized and comped me 2 meals. Floor guy and slot tech sought me out to see what happened about it a few minutes later. Then the slot tech came back again later to tell me they were under orders to change the game to 8/5....I saw it was changed last night . Probably couldn't get a deal like that in Vegas.....but I was glad I approached it the way I did. BTW, the slot tech said it is confusing as hell to set those multi game machines up..

Glad it worked out for you, and they were quite generous for you finding the gaffe (2 meals for $2.50 is a deal to me!), but I would generally be cautious to say something like that. They had the right to turn them all into 6/5 SDDB machines as well. Also having some poorer paying machines sitting around helps the casino to more easily offer better machines such as 8/5 SDDB.
In this case, it definitely was an oversight on that machine. I'm a bit surprised they upgraded the entire casino from 6/5 to 8/5 though. Did they do that with a lot of other games too, or just SDDB?

I agree, I was somewhat hesitant, but I had never seen a 6/5 here before. And while I also agree with you that they have the right to do as they wish, it is also just downright wrong and sneaky for a casino to do this kind of thing on purpose. And I wanted to let them know how I felt. I think this one was leftover from over a year ago when they upgraded paytables . Not really sure as I have only been playing for about a year, and just recently switched from BP to SDDB as my main game. 8/5 BP and 8/5 SDDB are the only playable games here.

daily_double have you ever noticed how active that particular machine has been? Is it constantly in use or does it go unplayed? If it went unplayed I'm wondering if the casino ever wondered why, if; the drop were lower on that machine vs. the other machines in that bank? As Vman pointed out, you may have done them a favor by pointing it out to them. But as he also mentioned: you always need to check the paytables before you start playing. Good luck.

Two comped meals for 10 coins? Heck yeah you got a deal. Anyhows as the others stated, it was your duty to see that the paytables were up to snuff. Luckily they didn't lower the others. Good deal all around. Good luck to you.

This particular machine is one of about 100 of the single hand game king machines that have about 12 different games loaded into them, so it is kind of impossible for anyone to notice except maybe the casino people.
This whole thing was really kind of weird. I mean, I didn't go off into a wild rant about it, nor did I demand or ask for anything, I just was voicing my displeasure in a civil tone. I admitted it was my fault, but the casino manager apologized at least a half dozen times and insisted on the comp. Actually, It was almost embarrassing, but I took it anyways...lol
Definitely a lesson learned here....thanks for the feedback....good luck to all of you as well.

Being nice to a casino employee always opens the door wider than being a jerk to that same casino employee. Kudos to you for taking the right path.
