Players still closely followed
Could be a coincidence, but while I was having my usual morning after chit chat with the coincierge people at Mohegan Sun, a host walked up to me with a nice trip offer. Note that I had hit my Royal late the night before. I wish I could have taken them up on the offer, but I had family and other things I had to do. The offer was a 3 day all expense paid trip to the Mohegan Sun's other casino in PA. Pocono area. Travel was to be with a small group in a Luxury mini bus. I haven't had an offer like this before so I thought it was funny that it was just after I hit the Royal. Usually, stuff like this is for level 4 players, but I had been hitting the machinew quite heavy and with poor results the last few months. Hmmmmmm....hope it gets repeated sometime in the summer when the wife is off.

Olds I'm guessing that if sometime in the future you mention the offer to a host and say something along the lines that: "because of scheduling issues we couldn't take advantage of your offer at that time but is it available again?" Doesn't hurt to ask and all they can say is: no, but may we buy you dinner at our steakhouse?

Good idea. Especially since I know this particular host pretty well. Offers like this up here are few and far between unlike years ago when they had a big marketing department. Used to play less and get invited with my wife to the all of the black tie sports banquets that were for various really good charities. Always got an autographed baseball too in a glass case just for going. One year was Don Zimmer and pitcher CC. Always had a player or two at our table too. Still sorry I didn't buy the autographed and framed picture of the original Rat pack at the silent auction. I think it was 200 bucks and you were allowed to use your points too! Don't miss the black tie at all though. I'm a jeans and denim fan myself.

Zip Zim, former Boston redsox manager in 1977-1980, as howard cossel once referred to him back in 1978 in the infamous one game playoff for the division title, when Bucky Dent's pop fly ball cleared the net in Left field and Yaz's legs buckled under him as once again, he realized the sox were going to lose to the yanks......Don Zimmer was one of those baseball roaches who just survived, year after year, catching on with one team or another as a manager or coach, but he was trul beloved by all who knew him as a knowledgable, and funny in a crotchety sorta way, baseball guru. I will never forget him "attacking" pedro martinez in the 2003 playoffs between yankees and redsox (zimmer was now Yankees bench coach and he sat next to Torre in all games), and Pedro slammed him to the ground almost killing the 80 year old goat! funny thing was, zimmer was clearly the agressor and instigator yet Pedro got all the bad press and blame for doing that to such a "sweet old man".....
