ULTIMATE X Winning Strategy

Post by DougJ »

I have previously commented in another thread about the trolls who scroll through the Ultimate X machines looking for orphaned multipliers.

Just returned from a week in Vegas and I am totally outraged by what I witnessed at the locals casino I visit.

There was a grubby looking guy sitting at an Ultimate X machine, not playing, but just looking around. I was playing regular single line VP at a different bank of machines that was in full view of this Ultimate X machine and this creepy guy. He sat there for at least a half hour, and then suddenly stood up and left.

A few minutes later, another guy comes along with an elderly woman. He seems like he knows her, and she sits down at this recently vacated Ultimate X. After about 15 minutes, I see them both stand up to leave. They walk right past my machine, and I overhear her thanking him for teaching her how to play that game, and he apologizes that she didn't seem to have better luck.

As soon as they walk away, the creepy grubby guy sits back down at this Ultimate X. Sure enough, the second guy returns without the elderly woman, and sits next to Mr. Grubby. I cashed out my machine, and stood behind the two, watching them. YUP, they played off all the multipliers this woman left behind. They "earned" $78 for their little scam. When they finally noticed me standing behind them, the one guy of this scam team said "best game in the casino!", and then they scooted off towards the exit.

Just utterly shameful!

See them doing that again, get a hold of security before they leave the area. If they have enough video to review, they could ban them for that. Screw those guys!

I pick these things off when they are voluntarily left behind, but I would never stoop to what they did. If someone actually asked me to teach them the game, I would tell them NOT to leave multipliers behind. I've also told people who ask why I do what I do and hint to them not to leave them behind! But if that falls on deaf ears...I'm not going to go out of my way to stop them.

I may have made $10 or so off these today in roughly an hour. My biggest hit was on another game I posted about in the "Horseshoe Hammond" thread.

by any chance was that at the Gold Coast ? We stayed there for 11 days.. and we saw the same thing.. the guy approached my husband... said he didn't have any money.. wanted my husband to play it because it had multipliers on it and he said he didn't want the (certain people) to get it because he said they screwed him out of 2,000.. I didn't realize all this until I read about it here..then he did get a guy to play.. he didn't win anything... it was really strange but now I get what he was doing.. my question is.... if my husband had played and won.. what would this guy have done ? Lots of creepy people out there.. I have seen the ones who walk around and look for money still left in machines....

If your husband won, the guy would have pestered your husband for a share of the winnings.

No, it wasn't the Gold Coast, it was at M in Henderson.

Like others have said, it is totally different if someone has accidentally left multipliers on a machine. But, this is the first time I have seen a scam team work this.    Which is why I didn't know what was happening until the guy walked past me with the elderly woman and I overhead them talking.
If I ever saw this again, I'd probably tell the victim to hit the service button on the machine, and then wait right there until the slot tech showed up. Chances are, that would get the scammers heading for the exit.

Yeah, possibly. "Look what I found for you!" But then again, he would have to explain to him why this is worth sharing the winnings with him at least. If the guy was truly doing this to spoil the other guys' profits, then he might not ask for anything.

Had a nice chat about games with another vulture/AP at Blue Chip today. Sadly he dresses similar to most of the guys I notice doing this. I honestly think I may be the best dressed vulture out there... Fortunately I found an 8X and 4X on quarters before he showed up and a hit a 3rd 2 on the 8X. Half of my profit for the day. Rest of it came from a ~99% quarter progressive where I hit my only quad for the day. And they had discounted craft beer left over from their craft beer festival there too, so I got buzzed for cheaper.

I wouldn't hit the service button.I had an experience where I cashed out my winnings and a woman sat down next to me before I could even get out of my chair. She wondered if I would buy some of her jewelry.I stood up and yelled  "Security !!" very loudly. She was gone very quickly plus it alerted others to catch a glimpse of her.Security people are around closer than you think.

Now this is the type of thread I love, where everyone shares personal stories of a specific nature that are really interesting and engaging!I like mammajamba and her strategy of calling for the guards, that's bold and effective, not to mention easy to do!I too have had many instances both in Nevada and AC with vultures, scammers, derelicts, drunks, pimps and hookers, all who have their various plots and schemes to part me from my pesos......and how I deal with them is as varied as the people and the schemes themselves! It really all depends on what kind of mood I am and how my day is going in general.....Frankly, I love to turn the tables on these people and mess with THEIR headts (albeit in a non-malicious manner with the ultimate goal being to try and teach them a little lesson, or at the very least NOT to mess with me again...)Anyone else out there know what I mean, or have a similar tact when it comes to these types of people who attempt to score or victimize off of you?  ANyone else out there able to "screw" with the people attempting to screw you?     I wont share any of my stories unless someone else goes first

Oddly I rarely have anyone try to scam me. And I have always thought that I am really approachable.
