These are good questions for a beginning player to ask. Humans see patterns in randomness and attempt to assign order to the universe.   As a player, there is no way to do anything whatsoever to the RNG.  It just sits there and randomly generates numbers, that all it does...  
The truth be known, there is no way that anything man-made can generate something TRUELY random. But, with regard to the modern VP machines, continuous shuffling and frequent re-seeding within the generated number string ensures that no pattern is formed with regard to predicting a future outcome based on what has been dealt.
