OK, I dabbled. But this time it was a good thing!

Did you hit any jackpots? Did you get a great comp? We all want to know!

Glad you were able to grab all the goodies and had enough will power to walk away since you were not feeling it. The million dollar question is what was it about the hours you were there that seemed evil with dead machines. Was it just a gut feeling or was it more noticing others pounding away in futility?

I've found many times that between 4-6pm most days STP machines go to sleep. Same thing 4-6am. Didn't feel like hanging around to prove my theory as I have done so many times before.

That was a good move roveer. I used to stop in and cash the FP but the local casinos here stopped giving a cash distribution of the FP and instead they give you bar coded coupons that you then insert into the machine. Harrahs Joliet used to give out "Harrah's Cash" at the cage which was basically like script and I could collect them over the course of a month or so and then have a small bankroll to gamble with at a later date. I would collect them over the course of 2 months and then have $1,000.00 to play with. I wasn't the only one doing it and that's what led to the change in how FP was distributed.    I haven't been to a casino since Memorial Day weekend and my next trip will probably be over the July 4th weekend. I was thinking about going back down to Tunica or maybe up to Minnesota, possibly over to Cincinnati/Lawrenceburg area. It will probably boil down to which direction I decide to drive. I could also head west and go to the casinos in Iowa and Kansas City isn't much more of a drive from there.

Always enjoy your posts roveer, for many reasons...not the least of which is your self described "long windedness" makes me look concise by comparison!  Also, since I do not get over to Harrahs much at all when I am in AC, I kinda live and play vicariously there through you.....But I must say, your decision to curtail your play in light of how bad the video poker has been in AC is all too common and familiar to me.......I also have curtailed my play and have switched to lots of No Limit Holdem (including a little play at harrahs but not as much as I want yet...)      But my Video Poker play was never even close to your level of play even before I decided to cut back, since I only play at 25 cent and stick to the best possible EV games in AC, with occassional  daliances into something like DDB with the usual crappy ac paytables.Let me strongly encourage you to refrain from playing at harrahs (or anywhere else in AC) for the next few months......save the money and then take a trip to Vegas and tru your Video Poker luck there.    Seriously.......even though you and I (and many others that I know) cannot prove anything is crooked in AC, something clearly is rotten there, and I think it has to do with the continued plummet in business the casinos are sufferring, such that desperation has set in......and we both know what desperation breeds. However, I will be back in AC July 10 thru July 17 and there is a Poker Tourney in HArrahs sometime during the following week that I am hoping to play so perhaps you can let me know if you will be there during that time
