huh? hmmm? I mean, afterall, you are in the SALES business are you not? I got some moldy dale carnegie books I could leave at the South Point Bell Man's station if you like.....?[/QUOTE]
Now it really isn't fair, DB, to label Bob a salesman. After all. the only time that Bob tries to sell you some of his material is when he speaks or is typing here on the Forum.

I like olds442 as a poster, but I laughed when I read this.....talk about smacking someone in betwixt the eyes with the truth.....Bob, I know how much it P.O.'s tedlark when I misspell your name or otherwise make fun of it (which means he must really "like" you), but clearly one thing you do not "dance" around is the truth, at least when it comes to sh*tty VP play......but all the same, you do realize that (in general) the way to win friends and influence people is to break such things a little more gently....? huh? hmmm? Remember my post a while back..." A good sense of humor and thick skin will get you through life just fine"
Fortunately, I think I have both...Just don't ask me to bend over and pick up the bar of soap on the floor.

Don't feel too picked on, Olds. A while back, Bob swore up and down on this Forum that it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to be a 7Star with CET, and that I was just making it all up. He never did apologize to me, or admit his inaccuracies.

I'm cool with everyone on this site BJ. Pretty much nothing bothers me. Heading up to Mohegan tonight to give it another shot. In honor of your nice post, though I am going to play a little TDB which I rarely play. I'll be thinking of you if it hits. Waiting for golf to be over on TV before I head out. Watching with dad. After that, I will play a little of the Phil method, a little Martingale clone, and in honor of Bob, ( don't want to leave him out ) I will play one hand of 9/6 JOB. If that one hand hits however, I will be sure to acknowledge it.

With no disrespect to anyone, until someone comes up with another method that is realistic, I'll continue to play vp using Bob's system. There are many methods to playing but outside of superb luck and playing near perfect, one couldn't have the longevity. The win/loss swings and bad streaks of luck can easily make one quit the game.

All these methods are realistic. They're just suboptimal given a random machine where all cards appear with equal probability. Unfortunately, I think only about half of the major posters think machines at their local casinos behave this way.
I still think everywhere I play is random, but I do keep focusing on my growing royal drought, meh.

I've never disputed Bob Dancers accuracy or authority when it comes to video poker, and in fact I have said many times I actually play according to his principles, which I discerned for myself because, hey, thi sis not rocket science and I know I am just as smart as he is (as are most of us here.)That being said, it simply comes down to the concepts of "utility" and subjective ideals and perceptions of FUN. Bob Dancer has stated (and I essentially agree) it is FUN to win....but unlike BOB, it is not my intention to try and make a living playing video poker....I have too many other options and interests, but nonetheless, video poker to me is one of my top 5 hobbies and recreational activities, so if I can try and play as best as possible the vast majority of time, I should do so.....but I am also circumspect enough to acknowledge that every person is different, and what works ofr one person does not always work for others. And olds442, thick skin or not, you have shown yourself to be a very well grounded, likable person in your posts here and as such, i would one day like to meet you. cannot say the same about some others.....

There is just tooo much evidence in the form of horrid erratic and aberrational statistical data from play results, both my own and associated friends and family who also play and know what they are doing. You see, VMAN, even if the gaming regs in places like AC explicitly state that gaming machines are supposed to be a certain way, that in and of itself does not make it a fact....nor does the existence of penalties for violating gaming regs make it a certainty that all machines everywhere will be on the up-and-up......it is a combination of faith, prudence and willingness to lose that makes playing in casinos a rational act......but even to some people, any form of gambling is and always will be IRRATIONAL. it is truly an individual thing.....

BEST post you have ever made.......I mean that, straight from my heart.still waiting, though, to hear from you regarding all these LIES you emphatically claimed I made on this forum........you can either quit while you are (wayyyyyy) behind and just apologize (just admit you spoke in anger and before you thought it through, I'll buy that, I promise).....or show the forum where , how and when I actually "lied".I am not just going to drop it, mainly because, if the roles were reversed, neither would you, and we both know that. You can still email me, and I will come wheeling to a time and place where you can "smack me in the mouth" like you said you wanted to......you hear that "boing boing boing" in the background? that would be the ball (YOUR BALL that you STARTED) bouncing in your half of the court.

I would like to meet the whole gang someday. Probably tougher for those who don't travel east too often. Right now, I am staying within an hour or so of home. If any of the gang plans trips to Mohegan sometime this summer, let me know here. Possibly, several of us could hook up. Ct has so much to do and enjoy within a short drive of the casino too for those who haven't been out this way yet. At least Mohegan Sun still has lots of vp machines and games and no shortage still of 98-99.5% games. Just back from another trip myself and while it was not a winning one for me, I did see a couple of Royals hit by others, several aces with kickers etc. Seems like some of the vp people are returning to play some at Mohegan. This could possible be due to the continued tightening of paytables around the US. Also Atlantic City's problems haven't helped, but with this weather, it must be really nice down there now. I also met a couple who use South Point as their home base and have made a couple of trips to Mohegan with good results. They are strictly 9/6 Bob Dancer type players who grind out for hours hoping for the Royal or strings of quads close together. They have an interesting way of playing. Always play adjoining machines on the same game. When one hits good, that one cashes out and cheers the other one on hoping for catchup action. Just like many many of the vp players today, they fall into that 60-75 age bracket. Anyway, they seemed to be having a good time and had rave reviews for the hotel. Good luck and health to all......
