Re: Why are we all so glum?
One more thing: Why is it that BORGATA is still able to THRIVE (not just survive) in the same market all the other casinos operate? It is so clear to me that Borgata always kep tits service level HIGH... Borgata is run by a VEGAS company...
Well, from what I have observed, keeping "tits service level high" is a formula that has worked well in Vegas.. Why be surprised ?
I think it was florida phil (of all people) who cracked about my typos......and I do apologize but the software on this forum which we use to post with makes keyboard errors and jumps easy. Clearly I meant to say "Kept its service" not Kep tits....my t "jumped" thanks to my keyboard and this software not getting along to well.Maybe my wordiness does have its drawbacks but I am only trying to communicate and post effectively.

What does software have to do with proofreading?what does proofreading have to do with a site dedicated to something that is supposed to be all about FUN and games and enjoyment and letting loose of stress and all the seriousness of everyday life? But alas, I will make an effort to correct whatever errors are in my posts from here on out....

...I believe at the heart of any disagreement we have over this, is a simple matter of perspective and plain old individuality and personal preference (and perhaps even a difference over what constitutes "UTILITY" to use a economics term.)
DB makes a good point here. As you know, utility can mean different things to different people. To Mr. Dancer and other strict advantage players, utility is positive expected return first, last and always. To me, given what the rules are where I live and the fact that I like casinos and I like people who like casinos, utility can mean the best deal I can possibly get at the time, even if that's not positive ER.
So perhaps we can be more accurate in our language and instead of saying "such and such a play costs you so much money," we should ask "is it worth so much money to you to make such and such a play?"
And congratulations on your marriage; in a month or so it will be 14 years since Mrs. Minn and I tied the knot. btw anyone got any ideas for an ivory anniversary present? I'm stumped.
first and foremost, THANKS a lot minn. fatz for the positive supportive comment on my post.....I appreciate very much your own intelligent, witty and well written posts, and the fact that you completely and totally understood the point I was making about the concept of "UTILITY" and how it applies makes me hopeful that my continued presence and posting on this forum will be met more and more with such meaningful and intelligent replies....resulting in discourses that are worthwhile.I only wish you'd post more than you do!I have to ask though.....as I highlighted and underlined above....what marriage are you talking about? I myself am not married .... (someone will have to get me pregnant first!)

Two ideas - the obvious one is a piano, with genuine ivory keys, or perhaps a pool cue with an ivory handle.

Waaaay Baaaack on page 3 of this thread, your friend, Bob Dancer, mentioned that he was getting married. I believe that was Minn's reference.

I also read it as DaBurglar getting married myself. Page 3 was quite awhile ago.
