New to VP. Questions
I have just started playing video poker for fun. I have a few questions about what cards that i should keep . I will just do one example picture. In this picture i just got 5 new cards. What cards should I keep, and why. I assume i should keep 2 cards, but not sure what ones.

This is a standard 9/5 Jacks or Better game. The correct play for this game is to throw away the Ace and keep the King and the Jack. The best way to learn to play video poker is to purchase and use computer training software. I use Bob Dancer's Video Poker for Winners, others have their favorites. I believe this website has a training mode that you can use if you become a gold member. There is no substitute for this method of learning. You will get your money back many times over. Good Luck!

Pretty much what Phil said. In JoB if you get 3 unsuited high cards you keep the lower two. Better chances at a pair, two pair, 3oak, straight, full house and 4oak.

Well, if I was playing JoB, it is because my wrists had just been slit, and while bleeding all over the machine, I wanted to increase my agony..

Ditto Billyjoe. Why play Jacks Or Better when you can invest the same time more profitably and more interestingly watching the grass grow???

I don't know about that. Florida grass grows pretty fast, especially this time of year.

I think some people here are smoking it as fast as it is growing.
Welcome to the forum chetrog and I second all the above. Good luck to you with your play.

Probably the biggest percentage plays DDB, a fair percentage plays Deuces Wild, and then there's billyjoe and I; who play TDB.

When the pair is a "high pair" Aces, Kings, Queens, or Jacks, keep the pair. Any other pair, go for the flush draw.

I'm looking forward to sucking down Bud Light Platinums at Sam's Town Tunica this weekend playing 9/6 JoB at the bar. Their next best game at the bar is 1.5% worse.

Bonus probably gets mixed in with Deuces and TDB somewhere. DDB is most popular game by FAR. In my experience, the ones who play JoB at most casinos are new, uninformed players unless JoB is the best game available (see initial response).
