Re: CNN Series - Death Row
You're not far off the mark there V, but my key point,"...justice will be done in the end", holds true. In our time or His...

Considering what happened in Arizona yesterday, I dunno about that just yet. States seem to be batting about 50% on botching executions lately.[/QUOTE]
It took almost two hours for him to die after being injected. As morbid as it sounds, I'm hoping that his brain was SCREAMING from untold pain and suffering, on his ride to hell!

So sorry to hear that billjoe, very terrible. Like someone said politics are a lot to blame BUT even though I consider myself a conservative this is the one place I just think the system is not capable of handling things properly. Does this man deserve to pay the ultimate price, sounds like he does, for sure---but as we see here humans are involved making it not only 100 times more expensive than life without parole but even more importantly a flawed system. Add that into the fact that innocent people have been executed and I just don't think our justice system can handle it. The lawyers get rich, the system bogs down, and poor families like yourself basically get tortured. Most death row inmates outlive the immediate family of there victims. I still think there should be the death penalty, but I do not believe the current system gives families like your own the justice they deserve.

I cannot even imagine what your family has gone thru all these years waiting for that scumbag to get his due. Being from Texas, our motto is "You kill us, we kill you back!" Quote from Ron White. I'd say drag his azz to Texas!

Well, CNN has changed broadcast days again. Now it is scheduled to air August 10th at 10 PM EDT, for those that are interested.
I do not want to read anything into the continuing re-scheduling of this show, but maybe they want it to air closer to the Nov elections.

I cannot stand the fact that AFTER these heinous criminals like this dunlap guy commit their atrocities, society CONTINUES to pay via all the things and ways already mentioned. My view is if execution is to be the punishment then it should happen VERY soon after the verdict is rendered....But that cannot or will not ever happen, so my next best idea (or view) is to work this guy to death....make him do something useful for society until it kills him. WHy should everyone else (including Billyjoe himself and his sisters family) continue to pay a price long after he is convicted?OR.....if we cannot execute people, then we must FIND some way to extract some BENEFIT to society from them....how about MEDICAL experiments to try and find cures for the worst afflictions, experiments that would previously only have been done by NAZIs, but that would SPEED up development of treatments and drugs?SAVe the rats (and monkeys and mice)...use the nathan Dunlaps (and gacy and speck and manson et al) to advance medical science!!!!! Who's with me???

You have read what the 8th amendment is right, DaBurglar? Unless you mean experiments post-mortem...but still...it's "unusual".

I'm just expressing the latent feelings and outrage we all feel, and that allows for outrageous ideas and extreme feelings to be expressed. As a government and economics major, the US constitution figured prominently in my studies, as I spent many a full night up in Widener Library and Lamont Library in Harvard Yard .....I have a love hate relationship with the US Constitution.......

DaBurglar backpedaling again, much akin to those cartoon characters that are so good at it on Saturday mornings.
Edited to add: I was going to respond in a form and manner similar to Vman but DaBurglar would have jumped on me too.

Well, CNN has made another change, Now the airing of the piece has been delayed indefinitely.
I am not sure if CNN is getting cold feet about whatever they had planned to broadcast, but we may never know.
