Very unlikely occurrence
The other day at the casino I got something I have never got in my life before. I got back to back natural 4 of a kinds of the same card. I have been playing video poker for over 10 years and I think I would have remembered this happening before. I was trying to do the math on the odds of this I came out to about 2.1 million to one odds. My math could be way off but it was still pretty strange. Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen or something else as equally unlikely.

I don't know the mathematical odds but sometimes rare probabilities occur. In 2011, I had a RF dealt on New Year's Day. 26 days later at another casino I had another RF dealt and then in July that year had a third dealt RF. Three dealt RF in one year was incredible odds as far as I was concerned.

It's close to your number for any given two hands (exact odds depends on the game). But some players play a lot and over 10 years some even play over 2.1 million hands. If someone plays 2.1 million hands, the odds of that person hitting same quads at least once back to back it is roughly 1 - 1/e (e=2.718281828459045) = 0.632121
I got back to back quads of the other day of the same rank for the first time I can recall, but I was cheating, I was playing a multiline game and filled quads back to back...
In a single line game, I got back-to-back quads at McCarran of all places, but they weren't the same rank.

On the subject of very unlikely occurrences, on the last two trips a person sitting next to me drew 4 to a royal on a triple play machine. I do not normally pay attention to what type of hands the person next to me is getting put when they start jumping up and down and screaming it tends to get your attention. In both cases not only did they draw a royal flush, they drew two royal flushes out of three hands. I know you have a three in forty seven chance of getting a royal flush when drawing 4 to a royal when playing triple play but what are the odds of getting two royals, let alone witnessing it happening on two consecutive trips?

This must be oddball week. The other night at Mohegan Sun I pulled Deuces Quads ( meaning they were dealt ) on the Double Down Stud game and three hands later I was dealt a Wild Royal Flush. Needless to say, that made me a happy camper. Other than that the last weird thing I remember is about 15 years ago. I was dealt quads on job and the very next hand a dealt straight flush appeared. I won't bother listing the many many times I ended up with consecutive dud hands on all kinds of games. There are just too many too count. . As long as you are looking at my frown face at the end of the previous sentence, I remember getting two Royals in the same day when I first started playing vp. I hate to even tell you that was with one nickel in the machine both times shortly after Foxwoods opened for business.

Actually, each hand carries a 1 in 47 chance, but you get to do that 3 times. Since each hand is independent, whether you catch or not on the first hand has no bearing on the odds of the remaining hands - just more opportunities at 1 in 47.
A heck of an achievement, though, "beating the odds" in more than one line in the same hand.

Once in Atlantic City and on our Tahoe trip we just got back from. The one in Tahoe was on a dollar triple play machine and paid $8000. Now its my turn. They say things happen in threes. Leaving in a couple of hours for our local for a quick overnight trip.

Once at River City in St. Louis, I saw a guy draw quad Jacks from trips on ALL 3 hands! What disturbs me is the dude didn't even flinch over it!
Filling 3 Quads: 1/23.5^3 = 1 in 12,978
Making 2 or more Royals out of 3: 1 in 747
I wish I was that lucky.
