Just a little side note. Does anyone go back far enough to remember the manual choke on the Briggs and Stratton Lawn Mower. Worked great and they never should have done away with it. That would be in 1956. The reason I remember is because my parents had just bought their house ( new for 13k). We had to get a mower and the local Western Auto had one. Guess who had to cut the grass? Many many years later I found that mower in dad's shed discarded under an old tarp. I restored it and gave it to a family who had fallen on hard times and had nothing to speak of. They really appreciated it.

I remember the rich neighbors had a gas Lawn Mower. I used a push, reel-type for my duties.

And aligning those up and keeping them sharp was no easy task. That was a really big deal when that one got retired and we got the cheapest gas mower with non adjustable wheels.

With a rear-mounted, air-cooled flat six engine? My sister had one, and the engine burst into flames.

If that is not a picture of Jane Russell, both pics have what made them famous. And now we know the " Rest of the Story". I know, I know, looks not so important now as wit, charm, and excitement. I don't have that quote exactly right, but I think that is the jist of it.

Yes, I never had a problem.
Loved "her" just like the gal who was my "first love" when I was a teenager. Think about both of them.

Olds, Briggs and Stratton doing away with the manual choke messed up all kinds of power equipment. Mowers, pressure washers, rotortillers, etc etc. Now it either starts or it doesn't. With the manual choke we could mess with it and eventually get it to start. I bought a new pressure washer from Lowes and they told me that fully 5% of all of the Briggs & Stratton powered products they sell are returned with starting problems. It's the lack of that manual choke, I tell ya!!
