Just started to play dreamcard a little bit - do you guys feel the dream card appears often enough to justify the 2x coin in requirement ?

As much as I bonk on multipliers I guess my volume eventually brings some good payouts. These hits represent probably 35 hours of play. I'm not a particularly fast player. Probably 6 hands a minute so I'm guessing I've played probably 13-14k hands making up those sessions.
That's some awesome hits then! This is closer to a good 100k hand sample to me. Multiplied AWAK should only come 1 in 240k hands or so. And you got a multiplex royal too!

Just barely. The thing about dream card is, it makes you experience top heavy payouts much easier. The royal is often worth near 4% of the return in this game (sometimes close to 5%) vs. 2% for standard video poker. And for DDB, Aces w/kicker is double the average return too at almost 5.5% vs. 2.5%. If you're not hitting things like a royal or aces in bonus type games, the game will seem like a money sucker.

That has been my experience. If I don't get quads then the game seems like a loser. When I play if things aren't happening then I declare the game dead and leave it alone for a few hours and try again. The quad aces came within 30 minutes of each other. The 2nd one was on 5 dollar denom and had it been with the kicker it would have been a wonderful payout (20k). Haven't seen one of those in a while.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I can say that anyone wanting to play dreamcard should be properly bank rolled as with the additional 5 coin bet, 1 and 2 pair hands are no longer "break even", but are in fact a loss of 5 coins. This is even multiplied greater if you are playing multi hand dream card. Having said that, it sure is fun when you are dealt 3 of a kind in the first 4 cards and you hear the machine start to say "dreeeam card" and the 4th locks itself in.

I've yet to find a multi hand Dream Card game at Harrah's AC. I heard someone talk about one and even posted asking where it was but I have not found one yet. If there is one, it will probably be lower denom as the only one in the "Diamond Cove" which is considered the high limit room is the one I play and it's single line. I'd really like to find a multi hand DC at Harrah's.
Might just have to add that to my list of things I'll be requesting from the slot manager. I've got a number of machines that only got lower denominations when they were swapped out for newer machines. I really want the dollar denom's reset. I'd even like to see 2 dollar denoms on a few of my STP machines for when I'm feeling really crazy.

@roveer - the one I found (multi hand) and was playing was at Bally's in Las Vegas. It was multi hand, multi denomonation starting at nickels and going up to dollars
