Re: Another Harrah's Visit...
DrawingDead one time I was playing at the Eastside Cannery and a guy was playing next to me and he was wearing headphones that didn't do a very good job of noise reduction because I heard the music as the volume was turned way up. I politely asked him if he could turn it down and he said no, he couldn't. About 10 minutes later I hit a royal on Super Times Pay with an 8X multiplier for a nice $3,200.00 handpay. Did I rub it in a bit? Maybe, but maybe not. A couple minutes after I got paid he left and my girlfriend sat down at his machine; 5 minutes later I got another royal but without a multiplier.
That is awesome Tedlark.

[QUOTE=thebigmje] What was your actual profit after all these hits.? I hope it was a really good one.
Not nearly what you would think. These are expensive games and when you don't run away, you pour a lot back in. Nuff said.

I have slowed way down on VP. I have the same problem Roveer. Greed sets in, at least for me.

My sessions can be all over the place. There is usually a point in the night where I have that "you should leave" moment. Sometimes I follow that and get out of town, but other times I just keep on going. I think it's partially greed and partially exhaustion. Just have to get a handle on it and make myself happy with leaving with perfectly acceptable gains.

Hardest thing in the vp world to do is pack it in with a reasonable gain. Mainly because we like to just play and play and play. With bank interest being almost zero, you would think being up 10 percent for a session would satisfy us. That would be what a decent stock trade would get you. Unfortunately, the answer is nope. Sometimes I can force myself to switch to a penny or nickel game, but when you get down playing even at that level, you decide to try and play catch up again. That is where we usually get burned and give back our session gains and then some. I am getting better at not doing this. It has only taken me 40 years begin to pack it in when the time is right.

...when the time is right.
What determines "when the time is right"?

Ted, do you have a pic of your girlfriend that you could post? It would help substantiate this story.

I guess that can vary. One would be when you have a decent up amount for the day, two when it is time to go home anyway, or three when you are too tired to play anymore without making mistakes or getting creaky from inactivity. Oh, I forgot number 4. The wife calls your cell for the third time with something like " car 54 where are you. ".

Just as well. You were probably a LOT younger way back then.
