I have been playing video poker for about 15 years. Have Never had a dealt Royal. The closest I came was a very bad deal and threw them all away, Royal came next.

Help yourself, Buddy - no charge. I think it is an original, but who knows. I know SEROIUS VP folks don't believe in "luck", which is why I use "good fortune".

I have hit 16 royals over a 22 year span.  I learned a lesson on the first one.  I was playing a progressive with a 2400 jackpot and the friend I was with  wanted to go somewhere else.  I only had 3 quarters in the machine and instead of adding another 2, i played the hand and drew KJ10 of clubs to the AQ for a $386 payout instead of $2400.  A lesson I have never for gotten.  Never play progressives HA HA.

In my 12 years living in Vegas,the most I won in 1 night was 12 K, hitting 4 aces and a 3 on a 2 dollar machine, then a half hour later a 2 dollar royal( 4K & 8 8K) at the Palace Station:)

Just within the last few months I have been dealt 4 to the royal on a 10 play and not one, but 2 of them hit. For the most part, the "foyal" does not hit for me either. Now I have saved a 10 with a face card and those hit a couple of times over the years. Just depends on the VP Gods!  My wife on the other hand has better luck playing, and even had one dealt for a $2000 payout.

I once had a royal dealt on a five-line nickel game, but that's the only time I've had it dealt.

i have only been dealt a royal once on triple play poker at a casino. i never have on video poker .com and i have played over 500k hands.

Personally that wasn't the lesson I think you were supposed to learn from that...

The other good news, if you bet max, it's highly unlikely you hit that royal.

One "benefit" (if you can call it that) when they did away with real coins in favor of Bills and TITO, no longer were you able to casually drop a few quarters from your pocket-change while standing in line for a show, or Buffet or anything.From 1992 when I first hit Vegas until 1998 or so, whenever I played Downtown Vegas it was customary for everyone to walk around with the ubiquitous coin buckets (all with the various logos of each casino in the area of Fremont).....people would walk around plunking coins in the various machines (slot and VP).    You would also see people who would show up at check in with their jars and bags of loose change from home and they would play with that.....But I can remember a number of times at the Golden Nugget in Downtown Vegas where myself and my friends would be standing in line for the Buffet (Golden Nugget's Buffet during the period 1992 through 1998-99 was one of the most consistently high quality Buffets around) and the line would stretch and snake through much of the casino in the aisles between machines.  We'd all be plunking a couple quarters here, one or two there, while the line slowly moved along.....I never hit a royal doing this but one of my friends in a 2 year period hit a royal on three different instances with only 2 or 3 quarters....back then it was mostly Jacks or Better and Bonus Poker.   In 1997 Golden Nugget changed their floor plan and soon it was only Slots along the buffet trail, no VP.We all knew you should only play max coin, but these were not actual sessions, an dit just was very hard not to drop spare coins into a close by machine when all you are doing is standing in line starving and perhaps somewhat inebriated waiting to pig out.
