From what I understand, Bovada's position is that their operation is not in violation of any U.S. law, at least not in states that don't specifically regulate online gaming. They cite World Trade Organization decisions in their defense; how much that would deter the Preet Bhararas of the world remains to be seen.

As always, don't gamble with any money you can't afford to lose...one way or another...
All the poker sites before black friday sent payouts in a variety of formats.....transfer to your account, wire transfer, western union or cashiers check.Since Black friday, the sites still up and functioning like Bovada have limited the ways in which you can get paid.....currently Bovada only offers two ways:Check by courier  and a Bank Wire.......I have only opted for check by courier. What happens is Bovada sends you a check from a bank usually located in a place like Singapore, or somewhere in Canada like Ontario.   You then simply take the check to your bank and deposit it.....as long as you never mention  "Online gaming"  anywhere, the bank just deposits it into your account and voila!

Well, all I can say is - BE CAREFUL. Since Bovada is not tied to a casino in the US, it is not a legal gambling site in the US. Transferring money for illegal purposes is against the law. Not mentioning "Online Gambling" will not protect you.
And besides, billyjoe; check by courrier is also a way to circumvent any possible criminal charges that could be brought by the USPS.

Ok thanks for all your concern guys......I'll never wager another dime on Bovada again! But you all do realize that, since the dawn/advent of online poker, and especially through the heyday of the online poker craze with Fulltilt, Pokerstars, Ultimate Bet and many others all the way up to Black friday. literally MILLIONS of people in the USA alone, not to mention countless millions worldwide, did play, and continue to play on all these sites......it is a HUGE business, even with the temporary setback of Black Friday. As such, I am but one recipient of what has to be by now Hundreds of millions of  "Checks by courier" that represent payouts form one of these sites.   I cant even beging to speculate how many or how much has gone the way of electronic transfers or paymentsI am not worried for myself....if the government wants to single me out for a $317 payment when millions of others are transacting sums that go into the hundreds of thousands, well then I guess there are forces at work for more dark and powerful than anything I can do to defend myself and as such, I would have to take my  lumps. But like I said, I am done with Bovada, and I never received more than 3 or 4 "checks" over the last several years.

Generally speaking, I think a bigger concern with online casinos is getting paid in a timely fashion, if at all.
