Too bad I never find a casino who even offers a double up option on Video Poker machines to even try to exploit the bug.

I know for a fact on every handpays from slots, they check surveillance prior to paying out. Not sure it took this long for that casino to notice anything suspicious.

Good article, I read it earlier today. I have seen a few machines with the double up option but now with the patch installed I imagine these machines can't be exploited anymore.

Well, like it is written in the article, they often had to request it being turned on. Most casinos have it turned off, especially after this event was found out. IGT sent a bulletin to turn it off until replacement software was installed. So if I was a slot manager, I would just keep it off until requested to be turned on.

How they got away with it for so long by exposing themselves stupidly with W2G hits is beyond me too. I'm only playing until roughly the quarter royal value and moving on. They could have possibly done this for years and years if they randomly just hit one Vegas casino for ~$1000 a day. I would gladly take $300,000+ a year.

Mohegan Sun has had the double up feature on right along on most machines. I cannot remember it ever being turned off. The only thing I have noticed on these IGT machines is switching games within a machine after a long cold streak quite often results in a win on the first hand after switching. I will have to keep track to see how far out of the norm something like this is. Could just be short term coincidences, but I have seen it regularly for months now.

This is really an amazing article -- because it took the one guy on Earth who had played video poker the most (figuratively speaking, though maybe literally) to finally crack this bug.

It's a story about greed. These guys were just IDIOTS about it.

I wonder if the casinos didn't notice because they're so used to people LOSING so much on VP. Maybe they thought, "Well... it's about time someone had a run." haha.
