Re: BIGGEST JACKPOT YOU WON
My best was $10 rf at Harrah's Cherokee for $40k. Amazingly, I hit a other rf on same machine about an hour later for another 40. Two days later, hit another rf for 40 at the same bank of machines. Hit a few more since then but nothing like that two day streak. I've really had to resist the temptation to chase a repeat of that trip, cause I know it was a once in a lifetime event. And my husband went to his "Tiffany's" aka the blackjack tables.
I remember this Buff. Didn't you also make the newsletter about this? P.S. My best was 15k at harrahs Joliet, IL. I got dealt a royal on Three Play Double Pay, center line. My best Las Vegas hit was 5k, I got dealt 4A444 on 10 play draw poker TDB. I hit a progressive quad aces in Indiana for about 8k once too.

$26,000 for a Sequential royal at the California in Las Vegas in 1993. They paid me for the sequential, then an extra $1000 for the royal. ALL IN CASH. At that time, you could not draw on it in small bits, and no cashier checks. Nervous ride home.
I DO NOT KNOW HOW THIS WAS POSTED TODAY, AS I HAVE BEEN GONE FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS IN ST. LOUIS. I DID WIN THIS, BUT DID NOT MAKE THE POST FOR TODAY. CURIOUS.

Personally, I tended to stick to 1c and .05 machines back in the day and hit for $2400 on a .05 Ultimate Poker machine (Royal x 12 on one hand drawn to). Was dealt a Royal on spin poker (9 hands) for $1800.

Back when I began, I stayed at the quarter machines most of the time, feeding the machines from a zippered canvas bag which held about $300 in quarters.
One night, at the Mirage in Las Vegas, before a number of glossier casinos were built in that city, I got a royal on a quarter progressive for something like $1700. With my heart in my mouth, I took $300 of that over to a dollar progressive bank, and after $200 of that had flown away won another royal for $8200.
At that time, jackpots less than $10000 at the Mirage were paid only in $100 bills. Because I needed to attend a swimming meet at which one of my sons was swimming the next day, I got in my car and drove back to southern California. Since I had begun playing video poker on a trip back from a backpacking weekend with that son, when I showed up I displayed my stack of $100 bills to him, and he insisted on spreading the bills out on his bed and taking a picture of the haul.

Great story. . Who needs fiction, when real life is so much more interesting.
