Question about taking pics in casino

Did you hit any jackpots? Did you get a great comp? We all want to know!

As others have said, it's frowned upon. But a suit asking you to delete your personal jackpot pics has no positive consequence for the casino whatsoever.

I've taken over 200 pics in the last year, and no one has said a word to me yet. And you better believe I'll be taking a pic of a jackpot.

I usually look around the area. If I don`t see anyone, CLICK, CLICK.

I usually take a picture of every QUAD I even get, when doing a trip report, and I've NEVER had anyone tell me NOT to.
If I ever was asked NOT to take a picture of a jackpot, I'd honestly tell them to go F themselves.
If they wanted to escalate it, I'd laugh right in their face, and pity their pathetic existence.

I'm not too fast with my phone, lol. He was polite about it. Didn't make a seen or nothing. Any one nearby probably didn't even notice anything different than a normal hand pay going on. Plus I'd rather not get 86ed when I'm finally having a good day. $500 bankroll $1 DDB lasted 11 hours and left with $2300, using a variation of FloridaPhil's system.

I tried to get a photo of a royal but when I got home I realized I took a nice photo of my thumb!

I had the same problem at Isle of Capri Lake Charles several years ago. Several times I had discussed the benefits of Sweet C and I posting our stories/photos to the management as good PR to no avail. When I was caught taking additional photos of a dealt Royal Flush jackpot I was told "a little too late" it wasn't allowed. The casino offered to take one for me with their camera and send me a copy.

Three weeks later I was at Isle-Biloxi and ironically was dealt another RF on multi-hand. The slot attendant suggested I might want to take a photo and would even take it for me so I was in the picture. Go figure. So upon return to our regular Lake Charles Isle I re-approached the Slot Director and GM. I showed them the posted photo from Biloxi with my story about our hits. I also reminded them as loyal players that posting about their casino was helping to promote them in a situation where they were often the third option. Shortly thereafter, the Slot Director told me the policy had been changed. Hard to argue their corporate policy when their sister casino was promoting a different policy.

I take photos all the time of my hits with my phone and post them.   If I'm asked not to I'll make sure I take it more discreetly and if I'm asked to leave I'll go and take my money and post that story with a cc: to the Casino Management.

Life's Lesson: This better to ask for forgiveness than seek permission.

Believe me, Casino Management doesn't care about much...as PT Barnum said "a sucker is born every minute".
There's almost NOTHING that can stop people from filling a casino, to lose their money...99% of the time, it's people who SHOULDN'T be there, filling it. (can't afford it, or addicts)

I have never had a problem taking a picture in a casino. But this rule is a good example of a lack of "freedom" in your country these days. Your freedom is determined by what will make the most money or offend the fewest people, not by true individual liberty.

Just curious as to WHO gets to determine "it's people who SHOULDN'T be there". Besides my being addicted (probably) and not being able to afford it (I retired at 56 after 35 years-with full pay) - what other reasons's shouldn't Sweet C and I be at a casino. The food? (Too many free buffets and the seafood gumbo at Coushatta.) Free rooms all around the US/Canada as we travel. (King sized bed ; jacuzzi tub, balcony clean towels.) The family and friends we enjoy being with? (All addicted and broke like us.)

Maybe I need to read the post above about individual freedoms again.

Oh yeah, I live in a state that touts individual freedom as a basic inalienable right. Right Governor "Ooops!" Except the right to choose.....! Whether to gamble in the State of Texas because someone else knows its not a choice I'm capable of making. Thank goodness for Louisiana and Mississippi who really "walk the talk" about individual freedom.

Thank you for sharing; it is a perfect example of our freedom of speech here in this country. God Bless the USA.
