Re: Finally going to Vegas!!!!! November!
So if I want to either win big or go home broke though, high variance is good right? Which game would that be?
I will practice whatever game I decide on a lot leading up to it so I should know the strategy for whatever one it is.

I will practice whatever game I decide on a lot leading up to it so I should know the strategy for whatever one it is.Win Big or go home broke: Put all $250 on Black with Roulette! Oh, you're only talking about playing VP right? Man, you just won't let me avoid giving you some kind of black and white answer will you?
Let me put it this way: Today, I've played only two games on the beta test games and both have been single line (okay, I did play about 5-minutes of deuces wild).I played 2,120 hands with coin-in of 10,600 credits. I am down 2,000 credits for the day which is the parameter I mentioned to you.During that time, the two games I played, and I pretty much split my time equally between them I think, were Double Bonus and Double Double Bonus. Both are relatively high variance games.DDB has variance of 42% or therebouts. DB has variance around 28%. Granted, here on the Beta tests, neither of those games is full pay. But they are within my tolerance for playing nickels. I would have lost $100 and if playing on the Strip or anywhere else in Vegas, I'd be changing games from VP to people watching until tomorrow <LOL>Now, the bad streak I'm on now is not that common for me. Usually I get a lot more mileage out of my credits wagered out in Vegas than what I've experienced here today. I've only had two quads I think....drew to Kings and had Tens dealt to me (why wasn't I playing multi line then!!!!!) Under "average" circumstances, you should be able to expect quads about once very 450 hands. So, I'm behind about 3 quads and I know that one of those three quads I missed would have been Aces with a 2000-credit kicker to bring me back to even I just don't have a better answer for you than the above "experience". Now, I'm working a bit on deuces wild, but right now and on previous trips to Vegas, I've played only DB and DDB with various pay tables.

Hey that sounds pretty grey.
Thank you Mr. Mike. I think I do understand. I think I do like the idea of DB or DDB because there are more big win hands than on Deuces where the big ones are royal or 4 2's. I am still not sure if I should do DDB for the added kicker bonus because I have not practiced it much but I could before the trip. Maybe DB is where I should stick to since I have played it the most and enjoy it. I also have played lots of deuces though and do best on it so far. If I can find a good pay table I guess. This is hard and I'm not even there yet.

Well, if you've conquered DB, DDB shouldn't be any trouble. There isn't that much strategy to it...Just hold all aces <LOL> Not really, but it isn't difficult at all to pick up the strategy for it. I think it is about as easy as JOB and much easier than DB strategy. But, be prepared to go on long streaks without good wins! That game is ALL about the quads! But, the main thing is to get out there and have some fun Eduardo. See the Strip! You could easily spend the entire two days out there looking at the "eye candy" and not put a nickel in a machine. Most people do something like that on their first trip. The first time I went to Vegas, it was to watch the Eagles in concert at the MGM. I was there for three days and I doubt that I gambled more than $10 that entire trip! So much to see. Don't miss it! You'll probably be right in the middle of things if you stay close to the intersection of Flamingo Dr and the Strip. Lots of casinos there. Bally's, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Belagio, Ceasar's Palace, Flamingo, Casino Royale, Imperial Palace, the Venetian...etc.

Eduardo, I'll echo what MikeA said about exploring the Strip. I'd save that for nighttime, though - prettier with all the lights going. The Vegas people reading these postings are probably smiling ("old hat" to them). But to us folks from the sticks, it's VEGAS!!!!! The SHOW!!!! The BH/CC casinos here in CO only gussy themselves up at Christmas. If I happen to have friends in town then who want to go play, we'll do a drive-by first and get our "ooohs" and "aaahs" in.

Don't have the variance numbers for it, but i would guess that Multi-Strike- STP-Triple Double Bonus would be um...very high variance.

Is there such a critter as Multi-Strike-STP-Royal Aces? That would beat out TDB. I see RA has been included as one of the single line games on the beta site. "Tempt me, tempt me".
That reminds me - Eduardo! I know you're thinking of going for the gold, but you're going to be good and stick with single line games, right? Right? If you want to see game volatility in action, try out the single line Royal Aces on the beta site. Watch how fast your points grow or shrink. Either way, you'll say, "Yikes!"

I do not like single hand as much. I have been trying it on the beta. I like 3 hands and sometimes Super Times Pay. That is going to reduce my play time isn't it?

Yes, unless you hit something nice early on to cover your play. Since you're playing 3 hands on TP in about the same time you play 1 on single line you'll go through your stake 3 times faster (if you're playing the same denomination on each). If you have your heart set on 3 play or STP, think about playing them at a lower denomination than you would play on single line.
As far as nice hits go, it is a bit of a comedown to play single line, isn't it? That's what I mainly play in casinos. TP/STP/50 play are MUCH more fun!
