Question about taking pics in casino

As you know, I do post a lot of pics of my hand pays. I usually do not have an issue at most casinos that I have visited. At a recent visit to Harrahs Joliet, however, I was prevented from snapping a pic of a winner.

A recent one of a Biloxi Beau Rivage hit of mine here in 'VP Stories', though.

Trump TAJ has a few guards who frown on the practice, but that is all they do, "frown" and say "You are not supposed to do that, sir!"      That's it.....Every other AC property has some guards who similarly "frown" and some who could care less.But ALL AC casinos have, pasted somewhere on the casino floor in signage of varying length, style and prominence, a statement that lays out the property's policy on recording devices and cameras......and they all "prohibit" such things unless you have permission from management.    I do not recall if that PERMISSION means in writing or what exactly......I'll have to snap a picture of these "in house "regs" next time I am in AC

While I no longer post pictures of my jackpots, all the casinos I frequent actually encourage it. They feel that the pics and letting peeps know where I won helps biz.

They feel that the pics and letting peeps know where I won helps biz.THIS MAKES sense to me!   if I owned a casino or managed it (and of course had a incentive to do so) I'd also encourage it, even perhaps going so far to ensure that when a JACKPOT or otherwise large hit is photgraphed, the ACTUAL casino name and location is prominently displayed!!!!

Just curious as to WHO gets to determine "it's people who SHOULDN'T be there". Besides my being addicted (probably) and not being able to afford it (I retired at 56 after 35 years-with full pay) - what other reasons's shouldn't Sweet C and I be at a casino. The food? (Too many free buffets and the seafood gumbo at Coushatta.) Free rooms all around the US/Canada as we travel. (King sized bed ; jacuzzi tub, balcony clean towels.) The family and friends we enjoy being with? (All addicted and broke like us.)
Maybe I need to read the post above about individual freedoms again.

Oh yeah, I live in a state that touts individual freedom as a basic inalienable right. Right Governor "Ooops!" Except the right to choose.....! Whether to gamble in the State of Texas because someone else knows its not a choice I'm capable of making. Thank goodness for Louisiana and Mississippi who really "walk the talk" about individual freedom.[/QU

I know that the casino, in general, is 'cautious' about photography. Although usually playing in secluded areas, sometimes you will see a celebrity (not a Bob Dancer-type celebrity) out on the floor gambling. The casino would like to protect the clients privacy as much as possible.

Also, people in public office frequently travel to other states to play. They could be victimized by some photos of them in the casino.

Some casinos will take the high road, and just ban photography, even for jackpots.

At the Mirage in Vegas I asked the lady if I could take a pic of a jackpot. She said "sure, let me take it with you standing next to the machine".

At Ameristar East Chicago, surveillance sent the guard to tell me not to do that again. I was wondering why a hand pay was taking so long.

I always found Harrahs was cool with it...but Ameristar would go North Korean on ya for even thinking about it...

(to clarify---thats what i've heard, of course i have no personal experiences with hitting a jackpot, so the pic is rendered mute...)

I've taken a few pics at East Chicago, and many more in St. Charles, and I've got away with them so far. But now I do take pics of every quad for recordkeeping. But if there is someone near by, I try to avoid taking them.
