nice report, nice hits.....paytables be dimmed!  its the same in AC, and elsewhere, you only seem to hit the good hits on lousy paytables. Were any of the "AXX holes" (as you described them) that gummed up your goodtime at the tables so called "Advantage AXXholes" like Tedlark?

DaBurglar I, unlike you, have never claimed to be an advantage player. Can I refresh your memory?
nah  you need to "refresh" your whole spiel, or whatever the flip you perpetrate when you stumble into this website and immediately zero in on me instead of actually contributing something once in a while.   And newsflash, the "people" who visit this website do not need you to tell them what's what , or worse, "protect" them from anyone.Get a clue, get a life,  get something before you croak....yeeesh

Wow, too much hostility this Christmas season. Chug down some delicious eggnog, sing some carols and drop a buck or two into a Salvation Army red kettle; any one of these will put you into a cheerier festive holiday mood Richard. I mean Dick, err, DaBurglar.

Merry Christmas early to both of you guys....Just bought some eggnog myself for the family today. Mine will have a touch of rum in it though. . Wonder how it would be with a little Maker's Mark dropped in. I will be thinking of you guys this weekend while watching the performance of Albano's NUTCRACKER up at Mohegan weather permitting. Sunday;s forecast is a little iffy. DB...my efforts for extra tickets for the UCONN game washed out. The game and the show have partial conflicting times, but UCONN takes preference that is for sure. Ted....besides a little Christmas cheer, if you could send just a little Irish luck my way, it would be appreciated. The bell ringers are out if full force in all kinds of weather. I hope to never pass one by without dropping something in.

Wanted to re hijack this thread and congratulate Billyjoe on a fantastic gaming trip. Enjoyed the handpay pictures. And I think you may be on to something about the better paytable machines taking your money. You could play for days on a 10/7 DDB machine and if you are not getting your share of premium hands you are going to lose. And I have seen lots of people getting handpays on 8/5 DDB machines. I guess timing and good fortune are more important than anything. Happy holidays everyone.

Great job Billyjoe!! My "go to" machine in Vegas is the wheel poker at the Mirage. So happy to hear that someone else likes it. It's never in use when I go and I usually having winning sessions on the machine. Afraid that they will remove it before my trip next month. Again congrats!

Just returned from a complimentary trip to Laughlin..nice tour group out of St. Louis, great flight and lousy machines at Harrah's as usual. We got so disgusted with Laughlin, we rented a car and drove down to the Rio in Vegas. I really like the Gold Coast next door and the 3 Way Poker. Even husband likes it..miracle. Then, at the Rio, there was a shooting in the hall going past the Starbucks going toward the elevators...a man was being followed by undercover cops due to very erratic behavior. He tried to rob customers, then when that didn't work, he tried to rob the cashier, who is directly across from the security desk. The undercover cop finally had enough and tried to take him down..did not go well. Shouting, screaming, threats he was loaded with explosives in his back pack..then it got really ugly, really quick. Bad guy rolled over and dug in his back pack where he had a gun, and he promptly got his head shut off. One shot. It was early in the morning so not too many people around. Then, the next day, on the road between the Rio and the Gold Coast, on the west side, a lady was jaywalking and did not quite make it to the sidewalk. WHAM. Got hit so violently, it knocked her earrings right off her ears. That road is so straight, there was no reason she got hit, except on purpose. A Rio cocktail person, said that was the 3rd person hit right there in the last 6 months. To round out the day, we had to park in the parking garage in the Rio, and to access the casino, you have to walk down a long hallway. Intimidating to say the least if you were by yourself. Apparently, there had been several "incidents" in that hallway as well. We have been thinking of getting an apartment in Vegas for the winter, but I think we may have to look to other places. I am by myself quite a bit gambling, so I think I may have to re-evaluate. Great trip though, and came back $600 up.

I posted a link to an article on the shooting at Rio under the "Viva Las Vegas" category several days ago. After several bad experiences at Harrah's in Laughlin, haven't gone back. No desire to go back to Laughlin as well especially since 30 minutes longer driving and we are in Vegas. Glad you had a successful trip.

Billyjoe, Rick here......my apologies for besmirching your Vegas thread with more Tedsnarkiness, but I must ask you some specific questions:WHich casinos besides Flamingo and caesars have you noticed still have the old, NON-server style, Five Star Poker machines with the website (videopoker.com) logo clearly printed on them????  I'll be in vegas soon again and really want to know my options for these machines since the games they offer are some of my favorites in the SINGLE LINE VERSIONS.   I find the websites that supposedly list the availability and locations for games are not really reliable on a consistent basis......best to go with first hand recent accounts.I also have another question......did you play ANY live Poker at all while in Vegas?   Also, since you frequent cruise ships and have played poker on them in the past, do you notice a difference in the quality and intensity of poker players on cruise ships?    I do not cruise much, but I would think poker players on ships would be much more "loose" and laid back since they all are there to have a fun time and obviously brought money they intend to literally "blow", whereas in Vegas you often meet real serious players at the tables along with hyper aggressive sharks and desperate people trying to win this month's mortgage payment.
