Some of your suggested holds i disagree with. For instance i had a hand that had 3 cards to a flush (playing deuces wild) and 4 to an open ended straight. Neither one pays much but i think I,ll hit the open ended straight many more times to make up the point difference. I could be wrong, but in my experience I would either choose the open ended straight or throw all cards away.

Are you sure it wasn't 3 to a "straight flush" with no gaps like 789? Otherwise you are right. You never hold 3 to a regular flush in deuces wild and many other games.

We'd have to see all 5 of the exact cards in the hand to determine if there is an error or offer an explanation of the hold.
