I've had it both ways. Most places don't care and one time I actually had my "real" camera with me for sightseeing and hit a Royal at the Harrahs in New Orleans and the staff took a photo of it for me. But I have also been to a casino were the slot attendant told me to delete it and I just brushed her off and she had 2 security cards come over and tell me I was not leaving the property until they saw me delete the photo from my iPhone.

Discretion...I have a PlayBook that does not have a flash, takes beautiful pics. If you're discreet and don't make a big deal of it, then I don't think anyone has problems.

a lot easier to take a picture of a winning, non-hand pay, hand such as a .25 royal for $1,000.00Fortunately I have had the experience. Low roller nirvana!

I try to be discrete when I take a picture because the responses can be so varied - even within the same casino. I like keeping track of the 4oaks during a session with the pictures.

It goes back to the old days. Movie stars, politicians and gangsters did not want their picture taken while they were in a casino. The casinos honored their privacy and made that rule.

I often see people taking pictures of a winning hand at MGM Grand in Detroit. I did it myself on a hand pay several years ago and was not stopped. I have seen people told to put the camera away when taking pictures of a social nature i.e bachelorette party. They do allow pictures off the gaming floor, though.

A quick solution: Take the picture and text it out to a friend or yourself for keeping/posting.
Had multiple pictures from a hot streak of play at Downstream recently until a young security guard told me to stop taking pictures and please delete the picture. I have taken pictures there many times and never been asked to stop. So, I asked him to go check with his supervisor. He complied which gave me time to text all of the pictures to Sweet C for protection. When he returned and ask to see me delete the picture I accommodated him by deleting the most recent picture.
I followed up with a letter to the marketing department re: the situation and was told it was a policy that wasn't enforced much any more.

A policy that wasn't enforced much anymore; except by overzealous security guards lacking in common sense and customer service...

The security guard was probably barely over 21 and obviously lacked experience and maturity. No sense me getting upset since he was only doing what he considered his job. Heck the issue of photos probably never comes up in training.

It's an antiquated policy. Taking pics of machine wins should generally be ignored by the casino (and typically are). I got "caught" for the first time this year after hundreds of pics without a word. Being new definitely made your guy be a little more aggressive in following the technical rule.
