Is it just a coincidence that I also have consistently good luck in January?
Last year, New Year's Eve in Vegas, and I hit a $6700 jackpot on a $2 VP progressive, just after midnight.
This year, New Year's Day and the day after in Vegas, hit a Royal Flush for $4000 on a $1 deuces Wild bonus machine, and then five aces on a $2 Double Deuces Bonus machine for $1600.

a negative 50k year like last year means a lot of damage control this year.Sounds like you also have made the proper adjustments this year, Olds. My out of the blue Royal Flush was in January.
