Re: SOOPER DOOPER.....Bowl time!
DaBurglar you really are a sad individual. You asked me to produce the article and I did. Now you are again backpedaling and trying to spin but you are only corkscrewing yourself into a deeper cavern.
Until a new ranking is out the New England Patriots will remain: Honorable Mention. I know of no one, no organization, no topic where it is acceptable to produce outdated material and claim that it trumps current up to date material.Yes you produced the article but as I mentioned, it actual ADDS to the validity of my original point (which I concede was my OPINION anyway!!!!!!!!)If we took a poll of everyone here as to who is "SAD" I am confident you'd win running away.......And everyone notices Ted how, when you respond to my posts, you are extremely SELECTIVE about which issues you choose to address (or make up), and which you ignore.Edited to Add: This dude who wrote this irrelevant, outdated article, Adam Rank, is simply just another writer.....he never even played the game or coached. Ergo my opinion as to who or what constitutes a DYNASTY is just as valid as his (more so even since this article is so old......) Your original accusation was that I (da burglar) "claimed to know more than THE PEOPLE at NFL.com".....this was totally misleading, because (a) I never actually said that, and (b) The so-called "people" you claimed wrote this info you cite are in fact just ONE PERSON who is just a writer.......AND FOR THE LAST TIME, my original thread/post, which you once again succeeded in BLOWING UP, was simply MY OPINION about my football team, and intended to produce discourse and debate about this topic. You petulance and idiotic psychotic behavior totally ruined it......and for what??!?!?!

DaBurglar please produce an article, more current than mine or not it doesn't matter, that says the New England Patriots are a dynasty team. You don't get it; until another article comes out then the most current article is used. As for Adam Rank I'm pretty sure he has editors who approve his articles before they are published. Again, you mentioned in your original post that the New England Patriots were a dynasty. Myself and several others took an opposing view, you then: got mad; pouted; called me some more names; and, tried to spin yourself out of it. And just exactly how long did your career in the NFL span, Mr. Football?

And just exactly how long did your career in the NFL span, Mr. Football? Here is an article dated two days ago (january 26) in which PETE
CARROLL, the coach of the opposing team Seahawks, clearly saying the
patriots are a Dynasty by virtue of what they have done over the last 15
years. PETE CARROLL A far more credible and relevant source
than the guy you cited from 18 months ago! Once again, I shred you
Ted:http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/patr ... eNewsflash Ted: I expressed my own personal view when I said the Patriots are a Dynasty (and I also said a lot of other things such as how the salary cap figures into assessing the greatness of new england, which clearly went over your head......of course, most of what I write goes over your head based on the replies you make lol) But turns out MANY so called football experts (like Pete Carroll who clearly is a football expert and authority) think New England is one of the all time great dynasties. The highlighted portion of your post implies that there has NOT been any other article by any other so called writer or expert since August 2013......are you really saying this? because if you are you are totally bat turds stupid. Aside from the one really good article I showed you above, there are in fact LOTS of others talking about this very topic....just do a google search and you will see!!!You cannot change my opinion Ted, and the facts are this: The Patriots have been BY FAR AND AWAY the greatest team in the NFL over the past 15 years (decade and a half)......if you dispute that then you are clearly ignorant of football. Just stop embarrassing yourself Ted, and stop making things up......

The only reason Pete Carroll made that statement was to build pre-game hype, nothing more.
I like the idea of a padded room forum. The trouble is, those who maybe should be posting there may not realize they should be there. I am not naming any names. In fact from time to time I probably should be in there myself. My degree in Psych will only carry me so far in this reasoning but I think it holds some water. Finally, as to football, I predict the game will be close and not a blowout. I give an edge to the Pats, but once you are up to this level, borrowing from Phil again, anything can and will happen. have you ever watched the super bowl from Mohegan olds???  I wonder what it is like there during the Big game, what specials they offer, etc.
I have seen it up there once, but usually I watch the game with my parents at their house. Other than the usual yelling and rooting, I can't remember any particular specials they had. I guess their website would list the important ones this year if they have any.

The only reason Pete Carroll made that statement was to build pre-game hype, nothing more. lololololol Game over Ted......I strongly suggest you read Sun Tzu "THE ART OF WAR".....it applies to all facets of life (not just warfare), such as Business, relationships, team building and of course, DEBATING (which is essentially a type of intellectual battle/warfare but does not involve violence.)One of Sun Tzu's foremost precepts is simply this: "If the Battle cannot be won, do not fight it....." Also, "If your enemy is superior, evade (or "Avoid") him..." IGNORE WORKS just as well as evade/avoid. I'll leave it to you to see how this applies to your own personal situation and your future conduct on this forum......And for the rest of you who either agree or disagree with my OPINION that the New England Patriots constitute a "DYNASTY" (or if some of you are simply true blue FOOTBALL fans and want to talk about anything related to the game), I welcome and respect all your posts and input.....this thread was intended to be FUN and interesting, as well as partisan and informative. Ignoring the hostility engendered by Tedlark, I'd love for everyone to go on record and predict the actual outcome of the Super Bowl this sunday (February 1, 6:30 pm EST.....that means you need to post your prediction before kickoff! lol)Here is my OBJECTIVE, NON-partisan prediction: Keeping in mind the unpredictable nature of the game of Professional football (i.e. the adage "Any Given Sunday" applies in all circumstances, whereby even the lousiest most inept football team can beat a superior team IF certain things fall into place.....and when you are dealing with the SUPER BOWL, in which BOTH teams clearly are extremely well coached, well stocked with excellent players and have proven themselves the best in their conference over the course of an entire season plus two or more playoff games, the final result often comes down to "luck" or the unpredictable nature of certain aspects of the game)......I predict the final result will be:Seattle wins by a close margin over my PAtriots.......I hope I am 100% wrong, and I hope my team actually wallops them by 50 points....but that is neither realistic nor logical in light of the actual makeup, strengths and strategies employed by the two teams in the actual game.As I said WAYYYYYY back in the beginning, the issue will not be decided by the battle between each team's Strong suit (i.e. Patriots' offense versus Seattle Defense); it will come down to how Seattle's offense scores against New England's defense.I foresee Seattle winning a close game, perhaps by a field goal......again, I pray I am wrong, but the objective, impartial and realistic portion of my psyche tells me this:In the Super Bowl, the SUPERIOR defense usually triumphs over the other team.....historically this has (usually) been the case in all the Super Bowls going back to the very first one......And Seattle's Defense is possibly the Best since the 1985 Chicago Bears "46" defense by Buddy Ryan (father of Rex and Rob); the 2000 Baltimore Ravens Defense also is up there.....but Seattle's defense over the last 3-4 years has been by far the best in the NFL, and as good as Tom Brady is, he can be beaten with the right type of dynamic defense......like all Quarterbacks, if you pressure and hit him enough, it impacts his performance. So, what does everyone else think?????

I think New England is an awesome team. If they had of won those three super bowls that they lost, and I do not know why that they did, we would be talking about them as perhaps one of the greatest sports teams of all time.

If they had of won those three super bowls that they lost, and I do not know why that they did, we would be talking about them as perhaps one of the greatest sports teams of all time.another good point......to fine tune what you just posted chatty, New England's record in Super Bowls all time is 3-4....the first two appearances in 1985 and in 1997 actually are NOT part of the current, 15 year Dynasty that I am talking about, so that means for the purposes of my point, the last 5 super bowls the PAtriots played are relevant:2001 they won 20-17 (they beat the HEAVILY favored St Louis Rams, who were then known as "the greatest show on turf" due to their high scoring offense; again, the Patriots, with the superior DEFENSE won the game despite being heavy underdogs!)2003 they won 32-29, beating Carolina on a last second field goal; this was an incredibly even Super Bowl, even though pregame New England was Favored by as much as 7 points......VEGAS lost a large sum of money as many people selected the Carolina Panthers and took the whopping 7 points!!!!2004 They won 24-21, beating Philadelphia......this game actually was not as close as the score, as the Patriots totally outplayed Philadelphia most of the game......still, the pregame line had the Patriots again favored by 7 points, and again, Vegas did not make a lot of money since enough people took Philly plus the 7 to tip the balance in favor of the bettors. 2007 The patriots LOST to the Giants 17-14.......again the BETTER defense (NY Giants) prevailed against one of the best offenses of all time (Patriots, with Tom Brady throwing to Randy Moss all year, were UNDEFEATED going 16-0 in the regular season and 2-0 in playoffs up to the Super bowl......and with 1 minute and 35 seconds left in the super bowl, the patriots took a 14-10 lead and ALMOST won despite the stifling NY GIANTS defense....it took a MIRACLE catch by Giant's receiver David Tyree to get the Giants the winning touchdown......still ranks as one of the greatest super bowls ever played.)2011 Patriots LOST 21-17 to the giants again, and once again, the Giant's defense helped ensure the win, but it still took a last second touchdown drive for the giants to prevail! So there you have it....even the two super bowls the patriots lost, it was EXTREMELY close and could have gone the other way! But as I said previously, the best defense usually prevails.......the old cliche, uttered by MANY famous coaches and analysts over the years, "DEFENSE wins Championships" holds water even in this day and age of NFL rules clearly favoring the offense with the current pass interference regulations and applying these same rules during the game.

Good for you. Hopefully, this is one New Year's resolution that is kept. Now let this be seconded by all who have engaged in personal invectives.
It's 1/28 so how about keeping this pledge regardless if anyone else refuses to do so.

I guess you never read my original post. It's 1/28. How about making the same pledge.
Hopefully, both of you and others can discuss any and all topics on the forum without personal invectives, etc. from this time forward. Personally, I am through saying else regarding this subject.
