5 Hand or 10 Hand

Post by jetermacaw »

Good morning everyone, quick question, if the pay tables are the same would it be better to play 5 hand at .10 cents or 10 hands at .05 cents. My games of choice are QQs and STP [Super Triple Play], I've actual been seeing more quads on STP then QQs.

I like 10 hand, but here's the problem. While in the long run, the return outcome should be the same as 1 hand or 5 hand, if your deal hand is ice cold and stays that way, your bankroll will disappear in a hurry. I just experienced this the other night on of all games regular 7/5 Bonus poker 10 hand. I was playing a quarter game and managed to get 32 straight dud hands on the deal line. The outcome was a total disaster. Had I been playing Fla Phil's one coin method on one line, at least I would have survived. Wounded, but survived. I even kept track of the dealt deuces in those 32 hands and there were hardly any so even playing Phil's game of choice and mine most times, ( Deuces Wild ) I would have barely survived.
On the plus side, if you are really lucky, there can be huge jackpots on 10 line games many of which you can view on this site that have already been posted.

Depends on your goal in terms of variance if the paytables are identical.

If you're looking for bigger wins/losses play five-line dimes. For smaller swings, play 10-line nickels.

Oh and between the variants, QQ has less variance than super triple play I believe.
