Though gambling experts believe day to day results do not really matter for those planning on playing for the long run and making good bets, there should be huge losses in between AWAK and Quad Deuces hit based on the nature of the Double/Triple Double Bonus and Deuces Wild games.

Nonetheless, those are some nice hits there Ted and thanks for sharing! Hopefully being tired did not affect your ability to play each hand optimally.
Thanks alpax. I try to not let being tired affect my play and I try to stay relatively focused. The exceptions of course are when I have Vman, billyjoe, or a hot chick sitting next to me. One of those three requires me to put on blinders. Billyjoe has watched my style and I will chase the royals and quad aces if I get a feeling. I try though to stick to optimal strategy for the most part. On deuces wild I will break up a hand if the paytable is not optimal for the hand and if I have a pair of deuces in the hand. An example of this would be a straight flush paying less than10-1.    I prefer TDB over DDB, ever since TDB came out but I will play DDB if TDB is not available. I know that historically DDB has better returns but as I mentioned in other historical posts; I am a big game hunter when it comes to video poker. Hear me roar...

Ted, I appreciate the effort you made to explain how you win 80% of the time.....I think that was one of your longest and most thorough and well written posts I have read on this forum since I joined.    You do not need to post pictures "just for me" or do anything else to convince me, it does not matter one lick in the grand scheme of things....the issue at hand, and what is relevant is this:As you pointed out before, when you took your potshot at me for "talking about my kidney stones", that what a person writes or posts on this forum is now (according to you) FAIR GAME.   Ok, while I do not agree with this interpretation of yours, YOU are the one who put it out there so I'll play along....You state you win 80% of the time;  you have offered a very generalized explanation (without actually saying EXACTLY what your limits are for losses or wins), and you post pictures of great hits that you claim represent your success (and before you jump all over my use of the word "CLAIM", let me point out that a LONG time ago I stated in a post that was directed at the FORUM in general and NO ONE in particular, that pictures of hits that ALL PEOPLE post here must be taken with a grain of salt simply because they could be ANYONE's hits and could have been from ANY TIME PERIOD, etc.   This is simply the truth, UNLESS someone wants to got to the lengths I personally did ONE time when I held up a copy of THAT DAYS newspaper headlines with the date clearly displayed when I posted a picture of a small (800 coin) jackpot I hit......and even there, I could have simply "hijacked" another person's jackpot if I wanted....... MY POINT IS THIS:   I am sure most everyone's hits displayed are probably legit, but they in and of themselves PROVE NOTHING.)HAving said all that, I am still going to choose NOT to believe you (or to believe that there is some other aspect of your claim that is not being talked about, like your definition of wins/losses and other information....or even how FREQUENTLY your actual "sessions" take place, such as once a week, once a month, etc.)    IT DOES NOT MATTER though, whether I (or VMAN  or anyone else here) does not believe you......if you are in fact a prodigious and consistent winner to the tune of 80%, then it has no bearing on my life, and my opinion has NO BEARING on yours......the only reason we are discussing this now is, as YOU yourself pointed out, YOU POSTED and made this claim here on this forum. For someone to win 80% of the time at TODAY's video poker, consistently year after year, that person MUST either be THE LUCKIEST individual video poker player in modern history, or they have some real/serious tried and true method that involves cheating, OR some skill (or piece of inside knowledge which also could be considered cheating) that is totally 100% UNKNOWN to even someone like BOB DANCER.....it's that simple. And the final thing is this:  If ANYONE were truly winning 80% of the time at today's video poker in the casinos that you claim to frequent, not only would they eventually stick out like a sore thumb (unless they refused to use a player's card and you have NOT made the claim that this is the case),  but I'd have to think they would seek to PUBLISH (and thereby  PROFIT from) the "Secret" of their success if it is anything else besides PURE DUMB LUCK.   If you want to simply come out and say, "Yes Da Burglar, Vman and anyone else who doubts me, I am truly the recipient of incredible, sustained DUMB LUCK", then I will shut up right now and accept that as a believable explanation.

For anyone to win 80% of the time most definitely there is a tremendous amount of luck involved. The odds are set for even the best VP players to lose more than they win.

DaBurglar you really are a very jealous spiteful person. You openly called everyone here who post pictures of winning hands liars and now you are trying to backtrack from that.

Whether you want to think that I took a potshot at you and your kidney stones, I did. But as I pointed out before; if you post something here, be ready for critisism or a rebuttal. Your payback to me for joking about your kidney stones is you doubting my claim of being 80% winning sessions. I don't care if you believe me, I REALLY don't.

Yes I am lucky when playing video poker because luck is part of the aura of the game. See chattycatty's post above.

I will also continue to think that my overall video poker skills are superior to yours, luck included. Not to rub it in but my personal pick 3 number hit straight in the Illinois State Lottery last Saturday night too. Luck is related to karma so if a person is quite lucky then they may enjoy good karma but if a person doesn't enjoy good karma, you complete the rest of the sentence if you like.

You just continue to be jealous of me and other winning video poker players but if it helpsyou out I will try to think about something that I can be jealous of you about........ Nope, stunningly I can't think of a thing.

Nope, stunningly I can't think of a thing. way too easy........he just cannot stand that people will not simply swallow whatever he says......To the rest of the forum, anyone else want to count (or better yet, acutally POINT OUT) the total number of distortions, twisted logic, and elements of HYPOCRISY in tedlark's post above?   I'd do it myself but then he'd just launch another totally irrelevant delusional diatribe.....he does not seem to realize that it is not just ME in this case, but MANY people who doubt his claim of 80% winning. But I WILL GRACIOUSLY admit this much (as would anyone, and chattycatty basically did in the post tedlark claims SUPPORTS his so-called amazing winning streak)....IF.....IF he really truly wins 80% of the time (and not just a few bucks, but whatever his "WIN/LOSS" parameters are, which he still refuses to actually state by the way).....IF this is true, then YES!!!   YESSS  I totally admit, I am 100% jealous of any player who somehow could actually win 4 out of 5 times playing a game that is (at best) a coin flip (i.e.  Video Poker at its best paytables these days is around 99%, almost a coin flip).I think even bob dancer is jealous of someone who wins at video poker 80% of his sessions...But of course, we are all not jealous because we all know this is unsustainable at best, UNTRUE at worst.

And JUST IN CASE anyone is as tunnel visioned in their reading interpretation as Tedlark,  READ my post above where I talk about the actual POSTING of pictures.....it's pretty obvious I never call "EVERYONE who posts pictures here LIARS".....but I believe my point that I actually do make, about the pictures of winning hands, is valid and cannot be argued with......UNLESS SOMEONE actually includes things like a date/time verification, along with their players card, or even photo ID in the picture, there really is NO WAY to 100% ironclad sure that what we see of ANYONE's posted pictures is in fact that person's jackpot.   Like I said, I CHOOSE to believe everyone is on the level, and I EVEN say that TEDLARK's pictures of winning hands PROBABLY are his, but that does NOT mean or guarantee that he was a WINNER for the session (or the night, or overall or whatever....)   Everyone can understand what I am saying (except Ted obviously).......

As everyone knows there are some people that are luckier than others. There is a guy that I have play with at Bossier City, La. that as far as I know has not had a losing year. I have sat side by side with him playing DDB for hours. It was amazing how many 4oak's he gets. I would glance over there every now and then and noticed that when for instance he drew a pair of jacks and a pair of sixes he would toss the sixes thereby increasing his chances of getting 4oak's. This goes against every thing I have ever read about VP. The correct play is of course playing 9/6 DDB to keep both pairs and go for the full house.

When I asked him why he does this he explained that is just what he does. Maybe he is right and the penalty for not keeping both pairs is not that much and if we both played our machines until the RNG ran its course we would end up about the same and perhaps me ahead of him by a little bit.

But its all about being in the right place at the right time and having a series of short term successes. I would love to win 80% of the time and I think it is possible because I think my friend I am referring to probably wins that often. When you are not getting your share of premium hands VP can be just as cruel as playing slots.

One thing I have learned by playing in the contests on this website is that if you are going to win you have to get some big hands. It is possible to draw aces with a kicker or a royal but it does not happen often enough. Along the way we all get a lot of crappy hands. If you are going to win the best thing to do is to be grateful for the good hands and good sessions you get and try to forget the bad hands and bad sessions as quickly as possible.

That is a .24 unit error (1.68 ER to keep both pairs, 1.44 ER to toss the low pair). So on average on a max bet quarters, they will throw away 32 cents each time which builds up rather quickly to a bigger long term loss. That guy must have mastered the S*** (banned from here) strategy which one of the principles is to toss the low pair.

It seems to work for him because I am telling you he is friggin lucky. Some of us including Daburglar and myself tend to over think things.
