Worst winter ever....

Post by DaBurglar »

I cancelled my most recent planned trip to AC (Feb 4 thru 7) due to this absurd and awful relentless winter weather here in the Northeast/New England.....Obviously this weather is tough for everyone, but even more so for people with disabilities or people who are older or otherwise infirm. How has everyone else in the affected areas held up?   Has this impacted your plans to play VP or other casino action?     I am so rusty in terms of playing live poker/Texas Holdem, it has been almost 6 weeks since I sat across the felt from a real person......when I do get back to AC or any other card room, I am going to need to gauge my level of readiness somehow before I dive into any big stakes (for me) games!I am already making plans for next winter to spend the brunt of it (from around New years thru the month of February to about the second week in march, or roughly 2-1/2 months) in either Vegas or possibly one of the outliers, like Henderson or Lake Mead......there are LOTS of places for rent, short term, such that it is pretty economical to do this instead of trying to bounce from hotel to hotel (even if the rooms are comped, since you still get stuck spending lots of money on other expense trying to live out of a series of hotel rooms), as opposed to having a secure and stable base of operations you live out of.....ANyone ever done something like this, spent a extended portion of the winter in a place like Vegas???

This winter s...s period. Lots of vp things cancelled for me due to it. Have to stay close to home though due to the folks. Even difficult to get over there some days. My left arm has turned into a snow shovel. Thank goodness I am still healthy enough to handle it, but is wearing my patience very thin at this point. Wife would move to Fla tomorrow where she grew up. ( Fla and Ma both ). Boston area hammered even worse than us. I hope the weather will let me get up to Mohegan this Sun. for tripple status points. I really need them to be able to maintain level 3. That is iffy at best this cycle. Four degrees on the thermometer this morning.

3+ft of snow on the ground here (north of Boston ) with more on the way this weekend.

I just made my 1st trip of the year to the casino ,in between storms, and the VP for me was as bad as the weather.
Oh well, I'll be staying home and saving my $ for a future trip to Mohegan Sun , once we get out of this deep freeze.
Stay warm!

We (I mean me and the mouse in my pocket) politely ask you to prove it, stupendously.

Well there was the winter that I got my scrotum stuck to the track of a snowmobile for 6 hours but I'd rather not talk about it.
