DaBurglar if CK did call you a pig that would be an insult to Arnold Ziffle."Gotta Love George Bernard Shaw".........I'd bet 58 bucks you never read one iota of any of his works. lol Stop trying to appear smart or well read Ted, you are better off playing the narrow minded, misinformed, rightwing, 2nd Amendment bully that you really are......remember what I said to you long ago, just be yourself
DaBurglar with your luck I think the LAST thing you should be doing is betting anyone. As for George Bernard Shaw I'm also a fan of Rudyard Kipling too, I know the poem "If" by heart, can you make that same claim? I bet not, lol... gigglesnort,...

Hey Ted,
"I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it." - George Bernard Shaw.
I basically went through the same challenges you're going through some time ago. I tried to share info, be helpful, post pics, (thanks again Faygo), etc., but the losers became very unhappy about it. So I quit posting pictures.
There are just some folks who just can't stand a winner. They would rather have you share in their misery than celebrate your victories.
Congrats on your wins. I'm rejoicing in your victories.

Love the quote about wrestling with a pig. I am not calling you a pig Daburglar but I am in agreement that you enjoy arguing with Tedlark. And likewise for Tedlark as well. Therefore I don't think this back and forth between the two of you will ever end and we will never be able to crown a winner.

I find it laughable that many people think it is insulting to call someone a pig (other than when a woman calls a MAN a pig for sexual impropriety, when in actuality calling a man a "DOG" in such cases is far more appropriate since male DOGS are far more promiscuous than pigs!)Well, you'd be incorrect if you think I truly "enjoy" this......while I do enjoy frustrating him and getting him to paint himself into a corner as he is prone to do, I simply give back several fold what Tedlark dishes out simply because it is easy to do so for me, and I can never abide a obnoxious, self centered, self righteous, DECEPTIVE bully ..... he is unable to leave me alone, insisting he is "being helpful" to the rest of the forum by "protecting them" from any possible misinformation I might espouse.......the arrogance and self delusion evident in his own statements boggle the mind, and, as I said, make it pretty easy to expose him for what he is about. And furthermore, who appointed him "protector of the realm"? Where or who said that other people (people like you chatty who are clearly intelligent and can think for themselves) NEED someone like Ted to be their "watch dog" and tell them when or what or how to think? Why cant the people make up their own mind? What's pathetic is NO ONE gains from this (I dont, he doesnt and mostly, the FORUM gains nothing, except possibly some entertainment value....which is annoying because if this is the case, if he and I are truly providing a viewing spectacle, we should be piad! lol).... it is all about the perception in his mind that he get the last word in......and I have actually on many instances ALLOWED him the last word, hoping, in his childish, narrow peevish mind that it will satisfy him and allow life to go on.......but alas, it never does, because he simply ABHORS me and my writing style and tone....there is NO OTHER explanation. You watch, once this topic dies down and this thread sputters to a halt, the NEXT simple normal thread or discussion I make will be pointlessly smeared and torpedoed .....Just watch......

The winner will be the one robot who beats the other one in that vintage Rock em sock em game. I think Walmart has reissued it and I swear, I am going to get and set up a big tournament somewhere everyone can go to. Hopefully somewhere warm and dry.
DaBurglar, why is it so hard for you to conceive that someone like TedLark, who is apparently 'local' to several casinos, can win 4 out of 5 times playing VP? If TedLark is smart enough to realize that say a 10% gain on his bankroll for that night is a good return on VP, and has the discipline to stop playing at that point, he can re-invest that same bankroll the next time, and pockets the winnings. ???? I can "CONCEIVE" anything sir.....but what I cannot accept (along with others here who truly understand today's video poker games, and who think logically and without emotions) is that someone will win a "10%" gain from their starting bankroll 4 out of every 5 times going to the same casinos, local or not, month after month and year after year......Like I said in my previous post, I can accept (or "Conceive") that someone could win 4 out of 5 (or 8 out of 10) trips over a specified short term period (say several months or even a full year)Â and that Ted may have had specific profitable individual YEARS......but no way doe she do this always and forever......just cannot accept that, not with today's VP machines and their RNG's being the same everywhere.
OK - I will give one and final attempt to demonstrate how this is possible. I have no idea what TedLark's approach is, or if it is even close to this, but maybe this will help others see a way to manage their bankroll better. This approach is MUCH easier for 'local' players, since they have the option to return more frequently to a casino than those that are on 3-4 day gaming trips. Also, this approach will work better with higher volatility games such as TDB, as games like JoB make it tough to recover from a rough start. Still, it does take discipline.
Most VP players will have some point in most of their play, say 80% of the time, where they are 'up', sometimes a considerable amount. What usually happens, though, is the player continues playing to 'ride the good fortune', but instead, loses - the gains and a good part, if not all, of their bankroll. Try this instead.
Let me use TedLark's numbers that he offered in his post. You walk into the casino with $2000. You are a quarter player, and, like TedLark, prefer TDB. You sit down and play, and you either begin winning or losing. If you reach a point that you are $200 up (10%), you stop, and you pocket your $200. At that point, you either leave, or begin another round with your $2000 bankroll. If you are never up, but you play as long as you care to, you 'eat' the loss to your bankroll.
But let's say that good fortune shines, and you hit a premium hand early that puts you up say $1000. You just got there, so you don't want to quit playing. Here comes that discipline part. But remember that you are a 'local', so you can return anytime. You pocket $200, plus your original $2000 bankroll, and play on the remaining $800 until it is lost, or converted to an even higher level, or you are just plain tired of playing that day. No matter what, though, that $2200 in your pocket is now 'off limits'. You had a winning session, because you 'banked' a specific winning amount that was 'reasonable' for a VP playing session, plus you still have your original bankroll for your next visit. So - enjoy it.

the only comment i made on this thread was to offer my congrats and tell him i was envious. we are left to the mercy of all posters, as to whether any story or pictures are truthful. while i have my doubts about an 80% win ratio, until someone is proven to make up story(a la brian williams), i will believe the poster. what mpd describes sounds a lot like Fa la la la la... la la la... la.'s stradegy. and, i would agree, this can only happen if one is willing to get up and walk away, when/if you are ahead. i also agree this is a lot easier to do if one lives near the casino they are playing at. for those of us who need to travel many hours by car/air, this is much more unrealistic. i can attest that while i have a session loss ratio of about 80%, there are many times i have been up, just playing the free play i was given.

I do not know who this 'Fa la la' is, but let me also add that this approach DOES NOT make you a VP winner OVERALL. That still takes a whole lot of luck, especially playing a game like TDB.
Using the numbers in the example offered, you can see where you can win $200 in each of your 4 sessions, but lose your $2000 bankroll in your 5th session. Still an 80% session win rate, but a $1200 lose overall.

I give up!!!!! You are right, they will continue this back and forth ad infinitum, hopefully with civility.
