I have wanted to get to one of these seminars ever since I started playing VP. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make the trip out to Las Vegas to attend one , yet. I was just curious if any members here at VP.com have attended any of these seminars. If so, how would you rate them ? Worth the time ? Bob Dancer teach you anything ? Is he a good teacher ? What can you possibly get from a seminar when everyone says that the only way to learn is from a good software program ? Sorry if the questions seem silly, but I am really interested in attending a couple some day and would like to hear what others have to say.

I usually leave for vegas on a Wednesday, so it never works out for me. :(Bob has been doing this for quite a while so he must believe or feel that Wednesday is generally the best, most favorable and inclusive day for the GREATEST number of interested parties to attend his classes.......I do not know WHY this is the case, but we must remember that THIS IS HIS JOB, not a casual activity or hobby like it is for the rest of us, and he is sacrificing his own time in order to provide this instruction.....TIME that, for him, carries a opportunity cost, that could be spent playing or planning his sessions to reap maximum ADVANTAGE via the various promotions and slot club benefits!Bob, do you have any classes coming up in Late MAY or early JUNE??      The WSOP begins in late MAY at the Rio so does this help or hurt your attendance at your FREE classes?    I will definitely attend your class IF it happens to be active during one of my upcoming visits.    I'll introduce myself so you can personally see I am not the TURD you may have been led to perceive me as here online in this forum!

After looking at what time the class is held my guess would be it's a slow period and it would minimize the impact of tieing up machines during more peak times. I could also be wrong but he may receive compensation from South Point in one form or another for holding the classes there but that is between Bob and the casino.

Yeah Wednesdays outside of November/December are hard for a typical out of towner to make it out to Vegas.

I have only learned more about Bob since last year, done a lot of backtracking on the forum posts here, read every Dancer's Answers on the site, read a good amount of the past weekly articles on LasVegasAdvisor, and listened to a select past episodes of Gambling With An Edge.

It seems to me in general, Bob is more welcome at the South Point casino than anywhere else. The South Point promotes video poker like no other, and getting Bob involved to endorse it is probably the key to their marketing plans. I do not know of any other compensation details, that is private and I will not be interested to know.

I've listened to a past show of Gambling With An Edge radio where the SouthPoint casino owner/operator Michael Gaughan was the guest (twice, but the first one is more about casino operations). He gave hints that he knows that Bob is an advantage player. For other players who only play at an advantage by only playing on double point days, their casino club membership will get revoked (some poeple on the VPFree forums reported that theirs were revoked). They are still welcome to play at the casino but without getting the club benefits. Knowing this, Bob does play NSUD on regular days to keep the big play day opportunities alive.

I stopped by the South Point to quickly check it out without playing last month (had no remaining bankroll). The casino promotes Bob by identifying a bank of machines with JoB and NSUD stating that it is a recommended game by Bob. There is also learn video poker from a top expert promtion too.

One visit got me to believe it is easily one of the top video poker places to play for low to moderate denomination players.

Actually, if you are retired and live within driving distance, there are often nice comped rooms mid-week at various Vegas casinos. We have gone from Tuesday to Friday. Less traffic to/fro and in the casinos.

Agree that Southpoint has lots of VP options. They also play bingo and their Asia/sushi restaurant is quite good.

Also it's likely to have class members "play afterward". Better for the casino to do that on a Wednesday vs. Friday/Saturday. Every time I go to South Point, it seems like a time of day where I could have a run of most of the casino.
