Wow, Boston could be getting another foot of snow this Tuesday. Mother Nature is surely a diehard Seahawks fan. I'd hate to see what she would do if the Red Sox won the world series this year...

Who knows. We may actually get to see what happens. Can't believe spring training is just around the corner. Probably will get some hundred degree hot and humid summer days to balance out this winter. At this point, I'll take it.

The Red Sox are currently pursuing Cole Hamels but I am not sure if the offer they supposedly are making is sufficient to attract someone like him.......either way The Sox will probably be pretty good this year (and thus become the first(?) team to go from worst (in 2012) to FIRST (in 2013) to Worst (in 2014) to FIRST again (in 2015, the upcoming season!)     Call them the Boston Yo-Yos if you want.......frankly, I dislike the red Sox....I used to HATE them as a young lad but tempered my feelings as I grew older and saw how the Sox were "cursed" until they finally won it all in 2004;   Ever since I could talk I was raised to be a Yankee fan, and, until recently, i was extremely GLAD I was raised a Yankee fan......Sadly, since the last time the Yankees won a World Series (in 2009), the "BOSS" (King George Steinbrenner) passed away and bequeathed the team and kingdom to his spoiled, clueless, unappreciative SONS who are in the process of totally ruining the team and turning it into a smoldering mess.      I actually resent the current state of Baseball with its absurd salaries, complete lack of loyalty and the ridiculous prices a FAN is forced to absorb for tickets, concessions, even PARKING in order to simply enjoy One (1) single solitary homegame during the course of the arduously long season.....baseball should limit itself to 140 games, TOPS for a season, because, frankly, having the world series STILL dragging on past Halloween is just AWFUL.

People have died in Chicago this winter too DaBurglar and I am in no way making light of their peril. People also die in hot weather situations as well.

Bad winters happen and it is something we as a society just have to deal with. If a person doesn't wish to deal with the harsh realities of winter then my advice to them would be to move to a climate they can better deal with.

Yeah, sure, JUST PICK UP AND MOVE huh?   That simple, huh?  Oh for crying out loud, whatever......for anyone else with a clue, my point is that it is the specific, particular  UNPRECEDENTED nature of this winter, the absurd snowfall and arctic temperatures which are WAY WAY below normal and which have been relentless, THAT is the problem and issue. We (and I) EXPECT winter and we DO deal with it under normal circumstances, even "bad winters" as you put it.....this is NOT NORMAL circumstances, now, nor is it simply "BAD".......not even CLOSE!   Boston is a Disaster area, and unless it has already happened and I missed it, we are expecting the Governor to ask for Fedral classification at any moment....And it is not done yet!

hate to complain about weather, when so many are dealing with much worse conditions. but, here in NC, the temp was in the teens on sat nite and we lost all power for almost 10 hours. no heat, got down in the 40's in the house. coldddddd.  according to article on CBS NEWS last year, a NASA climate scientist delivered a lecture titled 'PAUSE IN GLOBAL WARMING, BLIP OF SOMETHING PERMANENT'. the talk  dealt with the recent 'hiatus' of global warming. i have not got the fogest idea what to believe.  i long for the day, when you can rely on some impatial news source, as to what we have today. they have all taken sides.
