Re: The magic number seems to be 2010
After reading this thread I decided to go over my records as I have kept pretty accurate #s...
2004....loss of 8,800
2005....loss of 15,700
2006....loss of 11,100
2007...win of 3,500
2008....loss of 9,500
2009....loss of 16,000
2010....loss of 1,200
2011....loss of 8,900
2012....loss of 16,800
2013....loss of 14,700
2014.....win of 12,800
For me, ...the only two years I ve made $$ is when I ve hit a $5 royal, and I ve hit two once in the old days of 07 and once in 2014

royal, and I've hit two once in the old days of 07 and once in 2014[/quote]That's a cost to play of $86,400 over an 11 year period. I have to give you three thumbs up for admitting a loss like that. I wonder how many players would do that?

i would guess that results that 5of a kind listed, are not unusual, depending on the amount you bet. i also would like to applaud him for being honest about his results. might not mean anything to anyone else, but in the past 10 years, our house spent about $100k belonging to country club. just quit when i calculated i was playing around 2 dozen rounds a year. we buy $20k cars with cash, drive them until the doors fall off. while $100k over 10 years, may seem outrageous to many, spending $75k on a car, $300 for a meal, $500 for a pair of shoes, seems crazy to me. we all decide what give us the best bang for the buck.

Actually, I think a $10K loss per year is kind of low for some betting at the $5 level. When I was playing max coin dollars, I lost more than that for years straight. Expendable income is just that... expendable. It doesn't matter what you spend your extra money on as long as you get your money's worth.

Still driving a 5k car bought 14 years ago. Duct tape or shoe goo on the doors works wonders. Seriously, as long as it continues to get close to 40 mpg. I will be driving it. It looks like the casino won't be paying for my gas much longer the way comps are headed.

Shoe goo available at Walmart in the shoe dept fixes all kinds of stuff. Loose auto trim, things around the house, and yes even shoes. Stays flexible too. Lest this sound like a shoe goo commercial, so far except for the weather, having a good time so far for 2015 with minimal cost on vp.

I too am enjoying the honesty here, its very refreshing nad keeps us all on an even playing field, and eliminates the odor of BS.I do not think 50fakind's losses are all that egregious.....I too have had years where my TOTAL losses were in the 8,000 to 10,000 range (not including of course the comps, perks, free play, etc... obviously once you throw that in your total "LOSSES" are much more palatable and less egregious!) My worst year(s) have indeed been 2012 and 2013 in AC when I finished down to the tune of 11,200 and 11,900 respectively BEFORE considering all other things. This was all video poker play (no slots or tables) and I only played 25 cent denom (well, about 95% of my play was quarters) But clearly, this is a highly personal and individual issue, what each person spends, plays and/or loses in a given year on casino play and video poker. It is all about preference, budget, income, circumstances, obligations and responsibilities, etc etc etc.....I can only imagine what Billyjoe shells out each year, or even Roveer (currently residing in the "where are they now?" file...)

Miss them both greatly.
