It did dawn on me that Multi-Strike Poker has a lot in common with the Cheap Strategy.  I guess that's why I like it so much.  I like games with a small hourly cost and the possible chance of a big reward.  If you can play the game for hours at a time and still have a decent chance of a significant jackpot it works for me.   I hate games like DDB that eat up your money so fast that you can't last long enough to see the goods hands.  I lot of people would probably disagree with me on this as it's one of the most popular video poker games.

Not me Phil. I only hit aces quads on job or deuces wild. You already know my story on Royals. I hope thay keep that nickel Multi Strike game at Mohegan. It can still get expensive on the quarter game, since you have to bet a dollar a play to bet all 4 lines. Sometimes when the bankroll is pretty small, I would play the multi strike on just two lines or even 3. Still nice to catch 2 or 4 times the usual win. Have caught deuces quads at the casino last year on all 4 lines at some point. Even catching the 5 of a kinds and wild royals at 2,4, or 8 times the usual is nice.

I do not see how Multi-Strike Poker is similar to the Cheap Strategy, you have no choice but to risk 4 lines of play every time for the game's maximum benefit. It is designed so that you reach level 2 very close to half of the time provided optimal strategy and the random trigger rate of the FREE PASS. It is a high variance game.

The game will require its own set of dedication as opposed to single line games. There are different but similar strategies for level 1 (1x) 2 (2x) and 3 (4x). The only time the standard base strategy will work is at level 4 (8x) or if you get the random FREE PASS. But first you must know where the multi-strike game is offered to begin with to be able to practice the game specifically, or else it'd be a waste of time.

I do not like DDB either even the non-Nevada full pay 9/6 98.98% return table. The even money pay for 2 pairs is underestimated, and people play that since it is the closest to simulating slot machine behavior. The vast majority of people I've watched play quarter 9/5 DDB (97.87%).

Level one strategy is significantly different that level 4 for non wild games. Two high cards are better than a pair. Same goes for level 2. The casinos probably make a killing off the game.

I can see the similarity to Phil's because I think of wins at the upper level as one of Phil's pot shots even though you are hoping for one of those on every deal. Here is a fairly brief example from last night. I took a late night trip up to Mohegan Sun last night and played the nickel Multi-Strike game on Double Bonus Deuces Wild. Broke even earlier on my Martingale clone method on Double Down Stud. Played the Multi-Strike for 3 hours. Put in a hundred. The lowest the money went down was to 63 bucks and the highest to 165 bucks. I cashed out at 140 bucks. No Royal, No Deuces quads, No five Aces, and the 2 Wild Royals were on the bottom line. However, I caught a few 5 of a kinds including the higher paying ones on level 2 and 3. If I play this game on a single line game I can never win flat betting without hitting the big stuff. Five of a kinds won't do it as in Multi-Strike with the multipliers.
