Keep in mind that VP is random. This means the time of day means nothing. Who's played the machine last means nothing. If the machine just hit a big jackpot means nothing. In fact, most of what you hear in a casino is total misinformation.

That said, there are two kinds of strategies ... one based on random events and all others. All the others will get you in trouble. The only one with a sound mathematical basis is called expert play strategy. I suggest you read as much as possible both here and anywhere else you find the topic discussed.

Wildcard, I'll second everything that shadowman said.  If you play at different times of the day it's not unusual to have runs where you're just winning at night, or during the day.  It averages out over time.

You should understand that correct strategy depends on the pay table.FPDW you hold 1 pair.  9-4-4-3 you hold both.  This lingo should prompt youto educate yourself thru the expert advice available   Try the Wizard of Odds.He has a great FPDW strategy that is very understandable and easy to work with.  Good luck-do some digging-quit donating unnecessary money to the casino.

My personal habit is to lose only a set amount of credits per session then take a rest or take a rest, irregardless, when my mind starts dulling.  Also,if I get down for a while, I will get out at even if the chance permits.  If I'mahead I also get out before I go to a loss, usually cash out what I put in.That way I still feel good knowing I earned some comps.  There's no reasonto sit there way down.  Cash out and move to another machine-it does wonders for your morale.  GOOD LUCK.
