Phil this is a good post, but to borrow a page from Ted's book,  "WHAT
NEW info or theories are you offering here?  In other words, what are
you saying that has not already been said?"
If we never talked about anything that's ever been said before, we might as well shut down this forum. Not everyone knows everything that has ever been written.

Phil, I for one thought you started an interesting thread that had some very good points and valid reasons for why some may not be seeing the same results as they have in the past.

We can't control the way the machine operates or how the RNG deals the cards, but some things we can do, as you mentioned like scouting, sticking to 1 or 2 games, learning the strategies for the base games and the strategy adjustments on the gimmick games are real things that we can control as players and should be brought up for discussion more often.

Just to keep the record straight; I have NEVER written a book. I've read a few though...

Personally, I like to switch machines but I think that is because I have had A.D.D. since I was a kid...I don't do any of the multi line games, I usually alternate between DDB (my favorite) deluxe ( I love 400 credits for 4 of a kind) and Joker

I TOTALLY agree.....See, I was making a point......I constantly receive a lot of flak and BS from certain posters (well one) who insist I rehash the same stuff, and never bring up or mention "anything new" (which is not true of course....)   But what you just said above is really the point......it is pretty common for people and groups to revisit, and "RE HASH" the same important and recurring themes pertinent to the topic at hand (in our case, casinos and Video poker!)

You weren't making a point, you were slamming him and you got caught with your head in the cookie jar. You then tried to backtrack your way out of it.

Scouting means if you go to a casino and your not familiar with all of the pay tables and games they have to offer, before you put a quarter into the machine you check as many machines as you can, to try and find the best returning game in the place or your game of choice with the best pay table.

And if you play progressives, scouting means finding the highest jack pot + pay table and checking the meter rise.

But  reverse ATMs! I lost $30 in under ten minutes on two machines. Meter rise on a weekday scant, as I was the only one playing them. Don't know if linked. I assume not, since my play was accounting for the rise. I won't play below 9/5 JOB since return is dramatically knocked down.
