Ameristar progressive

Post by pokerpokerpoker »

At last! After never hitting a single line royal, one finally came. It turns out that I am going to need the money. My job situation has been kinda sketchy for the last few months, but there was hope of being transferred to another facility. Well, that morning a meeting was held and no, we are hitting the streets. We will get a little sub pay and insurance for a year - so it isn't all bad. I had time to kill before work so I figured I mays well cash out my comps and free play. Started out with a couple of cheap quads and then quad 4s then quad 4 w/kicker. Debated about leaving, after all I have no job (and a pregnant wife). But I decided to play down to $200, then she finally came. I guess my VP career ends here.

Congrats to you on the timing of this hit. As 5ofakind said, I will also say; good luck with your job search. And good luck with your upcoming little bundle of joy. What Ameristar was this at? What part of the country do you call home?

Thanks guys, it was Ameristar East Chicago. Made a cash mortgage payment and car payment today. As for the job, we get roughly 50% of our wages and insurance for a year while on lay off - so I can't exactly take any old job that comes along. I need the insurance. Gonna hope they call us back in a few months.

Best of wishes finding a new job or being rehired and for your wife to give birth to a healthy child. Hopefully the royal is an omen of better things to come.

That was the highest royal. The bonus poker was $1402. The other 2 (dueces bonus and double bonus) were quite a bit lower. The highest I have ever seen was $1760 or so. I never clocked it, but the meter seems pretty slow.

I'm sure it is. Probably a 0.5% coin-in meter or maybe worse. Blue Chip's progressives are at 0.5% with 7/5 Bonus as the best game on both progressives. But I've seen those get up to around $2k occasionally. 0.8% (penny per max bet) and 1% meters are when the real fun begins though!
