Resort fees at CET AC properties...
I know we touched on this previously in other threads, but NOW, in Atlantic City, the CET properties (Ballys, CAesars and Harrahs) all are now charging 25 bucks a night (up from 13) for a line item called "Resort/Other" fees.....This is, no doubt, a DIRECT result of their financial predicament and bankruptcy, as they are grasping anywhere and everywhere for additional short term revenue. And to ass insult to injury, they now also charge "Taxes" on this 25/night "fee".......unreal.So now, my "FREE" 2 night stay in AC at a CET property only costs $55.60!!! hahhaa arrrgh This makes Resorts-AC, the Golden Nugget, and Tropicana somewhat more attractive in that they still "only" charge 10 bucks a night for a "free" room! I think Borgata might alos stll only be 10 bucks but I'm not 100% sure. Taj Mahal is 15 bucks a night

Wow! Further proof that Borgata treats a player right! Especially the high rolling vets on this forum. Of course I must gamble away like a fiend, approaching something like the equivalent of 500 TCs daily at CET. I'm a 50 TC daily guy. Decamp CET and play exclusively at Borgata anyway?

So now, my "FREE" 2 night stay in AC at a CET property only costs $55.60!!! But DB, you're in the epicenter of AC! Contemplate the finer points of life at the Pier Shops while you appreciate stunning views of the Atlantic. Your alternatives? Trop is a cacophonous wasteland oveerrun with twenty somethings. Resorts crowd has a foot in the grave. GN pools and tubs not great this time of year. Harrah's is a trek and a bit too sprawling. So Borgata would indeed be the call. $5 rate is steal of the city!

yes I am booking a 2 night sojourn at Borgata sometime in the next month, just have not quite figured out exactly when......my MAIN problem with Borgata and the reason I have not played much there besides in their poker room (which is the best east of th emississippi) is the fact that Borgata is so isolated in terms of people who enjoy (or prefer) getting around via their own power.....The reason I choose AC versus the casinos in connecticut is the fact that, in order to enjoy both gaming and getting away from home, I can MOVE around and get around over long distances and thus accomplish another major goal which is EXERCISE. Obviously I depend on 4 wheels, and this means maintaining a certain physical fitness above the waist....I accomplish this primarily by WHEELING and moving around as much as possible.Sitting in the woods at either Foxwoods or Mohegan is not going to accomplish this.....but the city of AC with its Lonnnnnng extensive boardwalk, and side streets (well, Atlantic Avenue anyway) affords me the chance to both get my exercise and PLAY vp, as I move between properties all day and night while down there playing. With Borgata, this becomes much more problematic and limited. It is NOT impossible, as obviously I can take the JITNEY to and fro, but this eats up a lot of time and on crowded days is a huge pain.....But there is a happy compromise in here somewhere so I will be staying at Borgata more and more......especially since it actually is economically now more advantageous than ever (compare 5 bucks a night for a "free" room versus 25-30 bucks a night!....over a 4-5 night total stay or trip, this adds up over the course of a year!)

if the resort fee is $5 at borgota and $25 at CET, that difference is just about what it costs for 2 cab rides from borgota to the boardwalk.

The AC Jitney bus is $2.50.

i'll pay the extra $10 to avoid some of the folks i have seen on the jitney. i am also thinking somebody in a wheelchair, would be better off in a cab, that drops you right at the front door.
