Recall the old Let's Make a Deal show? I vaguely recall people got burned by their own greed.

Well going back to this topic, I ran into the exact dilemma today. Except it was with Deuces Wild. I could not take another picture with the outcome because there was a person behind me who won a slot jackpot and the security guards and management supervisors were coming to pay out the winner.
So what did I do?
Right off the bat I am guaranteed $50 with that dealt straight flush (1 in 72k occurence) compared to a non-wild game which usually pays 250, 300 or even 500. I know the Ace of clubs has a 1 in 47 chances of coming out, but the 4000 credit payout is 80 to 1, and the other 4 outs were deuces which will more than double my winnings. The ER is in my favor, so I ... WENT FOR IT!
Outcome the 8 of diamonds for $0 , again I did not want to attempt to try to take pictures in front of casino authorities.
The worst possible outcome given the amount of outs I had, but shortly after I was able to confirm it was the CORRECT play according to the strategy charts, VP Pocket, as well as Video Poker for winners.
Going for the Royal had an EV of 98.936 credits where as keeping the Straight Flush would have been 50.
I am behind on a few trip reports on the Pechanga casino thread, will be including this when I get a chance.

Too bad alpax but I would have gone for the royal myself as well. You still had more chances to catch another straight flush or at the very least a regular flush or a straight. Better luck next time.

There are also a few flush outs (6?) and straight outs (6?) that return a little bit back as well!

Playing deuces I would have went for it, but on DDB next time I will probably keep it. Really depends on how we're doing at that time. I once again thank you all for your input, it is very helpful! PJ

Good gamble Gammy; taking a chance paid off nicely for you.

I can't think of any deuces wild game where, dealt a straight flush containing three deuces, the intelligent play would be keeping the straight flush.

I think she meant she had 2 deuces since she said she tossed the 5 and 6 of hearts. That is a close play, but I think in that scenario, I would have done the same thing. Of course like you said, if she did have a dealt straight flush with 3 deuces, always toss the straight flush and go for the deuces. Five of a kine a different story however, though some will toss that too.
