Might be equally bad, but for states outside of Nevada, it is the state lottery (3 or 4 digit daily picks, scratch offs, powerball/mega millions) for other convenience stores. I heard those things bring in more revenue to keep the stores running than selling actual products.

People need to take personal responsibility. It's not the place of society to baby an adult. We need more personal responsibility, more free enterprise, and less reliance on Big Brother (government) to solve all of our problems.

Florida has every kind of scratch off and lottery ticket game you can think of.   It does make me a little uneasy to see people in line at the grocery store with a kid in the basket and three more in tow buying these things by the handful, but I don't think it's any of my business.  On the other hand,  whatever politician thought up the idea of putting slot machines in convenience stores must have been working overtime.  Oh well, I'm done my rant.  Back to video poker.

  i do not thinking you are 'ranting' and as a general rule, i agree with you. i do not think we need to make gambling soooo available. in NYS, not only do they have casinos, lotteries, bingo, but something called 'quick 5' in most every bar, coffee shop, etc. just another form of state run keno. what i find ironic, is that those who endorse the ever present gambling, are often the same who say they care about the poor. guess what group is most likely to be negatively affected by all these forms of gambling.
