Memorial Day Rememberance
Hoping everyone takes a few minutes this weekend to take time to pause and reflect on the veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice for which we celebrate Memorial Day. It seems to have special meaning to me this year since we just returned from two weeks in DC having visiting Yorktown and seeing the many Monuments dedicated to our war heroes in DC.
To all our veterans and their families. Thanks for your sacrifice.
Thanks DAD and Uncle James (WWII), and my brother Bob (Vietnam) for your service.

Well said folks and a good reminder to reflect this weekend. Lost many relatives in WW11 and some very good friends and classmates in Nam. I will always remember our trips to both Yorktown and Gettysburg as well as many other Civil War battlefields too. When you are there standing where they were until they were cut down, you find yourself at a loss for words and just stand, stare, pray, and reflect on how lucky we are to still be where we are and how so many made and continue to make the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of us.

Almost everyone has someone who served or serves and we owe them all so much.

olds,
it is impossible to describe the emotions and thoughts that overcame me when I stood at Concord Bridge a couple of years ago, the inner ring and Redoubts 9 & 10 at Yorktown or the grounds of the Alamo and San Jacinto. To follow those experiences with then visiting the Memorials in DC was so impactive -thinking of standing in the same spot where the men/women who risked everything and then seeing their memorials....
