Many years ago, maybe 15-20 years. Tropicana AC had a bank of .25 quarter 9/6 DB progressives with a top progressive for a sequential royal in each suit. Saw an older man with a confused look on his face holding a large cardboard check for something like $250,000 plus dollars getting his picture taken. His expression was priceless with the flashes going off. "What the heck just happened"

Is the game you're talking about "Pokermania?" If so, I remember them well. Pokermania was hooked up to several casinos. It took forever to get paid because they were all connected. I wouldn't have minded waiting

My wife hit $3,850 on Suited Royal Progressive single line $1.25 bet. She held Q,10. The next year she hit $2,250 same machine. Suited Royal Progressive is the biggest bang for your buck in my opinion.

Back in the late 90s, my wife and I were playing a one line 25cent progressive video poker bank at Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas. I got bored and moved to another location in the casino and was gone about 20 minutes. When I returned there was a huge crowd surrounding my wife and she looked visibly unsettled. It turns out that she had just hit a sequential royal on the progressive machine for $48,868.00. She held four and needed the ace of diamonds for the sequential. Nice return on a $1.25 bet.

About a month ago at Borgata AC. someone was playing $2 UltimateX Triple Double Bonus 10play. Was dealt 4 Aces with a kicker. The screen had 5 hands of 12X and 5 hands of 4X. Total $640K. Not bad.

My husband and I were playing $1 Video Poker Reversible Royals at Palace Station back in the 1990s. We were going home that morning and thought we'd play the $1 machines (we usually play the $.25 ones) for one last chance. All of a sudden my husband yelled out. I looked over and he had hit a royal. I was thrilled we'd be going home with $4000. Then I looked again and it was a reversible. It was worth over $63,000. I never thought anything like that would ever happen. What a thrill. I don't expect to ever see something like that again, but at least I know it can happen.

Wow, that may be the biggest VP hit I've heard of period. The question is...did Borgata keep the $2 denomination after that? Many casinos don't like to offer Ultimate X for higher than dollars for this exact lottery-like hit.

Those were the Pokermania machines. I remember them well! I liked playing them because I seemed to get several 4 of a kinds. I once got a Royal Flush but not sequential. It took about an hour to get paid since they were connected to all the casinos. Ahh the good old days.
