Worlds Record Progressive Quarters?

Post by 3 Time Looser »

The wife and I play mostly 5 Quarter VP and activity seek and prefer progressives. Especially Suited Royal progressives. Wife hit what is arguably the highest progressive ever at $3,850 in 2013 and $2,250 in 2014 on the same machine. My record is $1,850.I'm wondering, what is the largest progressive suited royal jackpot you have won or even seen. I know these suited royal machines are a very small niche of all the games of VP, and that surprises me. With all the excitement that surrounds any game that has swelled to 2x, 3x, and close to 4x of a normal payout. What do you know about this?

This was at the Luxor in Vegas in Sept. 2014. It was the biggest I have ever seen, and expect I ever will see for a quarter progressive. Hit at $4810.72. I couldn't get on the unit that day. I played it 40ish hours earlier when the progressive was at ~$2660. The base paytables are good, both 9/5 for JoB and DDB. The meter is 0.9%, so it would take 338,730 max bet hands to get that large. If people fail to adjust strategy completely (unlikely) and hit a royal at roughly a 1 in 40k rate, going this long without the royal is a 1 in 4761 occurrence. This last month, I played the same progressive at about $1750. A guy on another forum I post at hit it two days later for about $2150.

The guy standing with his face blurred out is the lucky SOB in September.

As for suited progressives, I think the biggest I have seen on quarters may be $1700, I haven't seen a machine with a great meter. For dollars, I saw one with spades up over $12k.
